Chapter 42
The waiter uncorked a bottle of wine and poured two small glasses for them. They each took one, clinking them gently fogether. “To the friendship that sparked at first sight, and may it last forever, Jennifer said with a smile.
“It definitely will, Seraphina replied with a smile as well. They clinked their glasses and each took a small sip.
Just then, Jennifer’s phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID, and her expression instantly brightened. She swiped to answer and spoke sweetly. “Hi, Ms. Walsh. I just finished working out. Aww. I miss you too. Yeah. See you tonight. The weather’s hot nowadays. Make sure to take care of yourself. Bye–bye, Ms. Walsh
After the warm conversation, she hung up but kept holding her phone, seeming a bit lost in thought. A small, sweet smile played on her lips as if she were floating on cloud nine.
Seraphina noticed this and was a bit puzzled. From what she heard, the caller was clearly an older lady. She waved her hand in front of Jennifer’s face, asking, “Are you thinking of someone
Jennifer snapped–out of her thoughts and gave an embarrassed smile, denying it. “No. Not at all….
Though her words said otherwise, her expression betrayed her. After a brief pause, she added, “How about you come with me to buy a new outfit after lunch, Sera? I’ve got dinner plans tonight. The hopeful look on her face suggested that this “dinner” was no ordinary one.
“Sure.” Seraphina agreed. Right now, time was something she had plenty of
After finishing their meal, the two of them drove to a flagship store of an international luxury brand downtown. Jennifer’s sports car was parked right in front, and the hostess at the entrance warmly greeted them as they walked in.
Immediately, two enthusiastic salesgirls approached them. “Welcome, ladies. We’ve just received the latest collection for this season, including limited–edition pieces and high–end custom designs. The styles are quite unique and suit both of you perfectly.”
“I want to see the limited editions, Jennifer said directly. Seraphina wasn’t surprised–given Jennifer’s family background, she was used to indulging in the finer things in life.
“Of course, one of the salesgirls replied with a smile. Then, she politely asked. “Would you ladies like something to drink?” Since they had just eaten, Jennifer replied, “Just some water, thanks. How about you, Sera?”
“The same. Seraphina was feeling quite full, too.
“Very well then.” The salesgirl instructed someone else to bring them water.
They made their way to the new arrivals section. The racks were filled with gorgeous dresses, each one more exquisite than the last. Under the lighting, the embellishments on the clothes sparkled like diamonds,
“Sera, help me pick something, Jennifer said.
Seraphina nodded. This was actually her first time visiting such top–tier luxury store, though her wardrobe was already filled with outfits from this brand–all of which Clarence had sent directly to her.
One of the salesgirls returned with a tray. On it were glasses of water, which they each took a sip from before placing them back on the tray. The attendant continued to hold the tray, staying nearby to provide any further service they might need. There were also two plates of pastries on the tray. But since they had just eaten, neither of them touched the food
Looking at the grand hall, with everyone around her warmly attending to her nerds, each person greeting her with a smile, Seraphina couldn’t help but marvel at the life of the wealthy If weren’t for the chance to experience it firsthand, she

honestly couldn’t have imagined it.
The salesgirl eagerly introduced the latest limited editions to Jennifer.
After browsing through them, Jennifer finally settled on a beige floral dress. The dress had a fitted bodice with a flowy skirt. The hemline was layered with light chiffon, and as one walked, the lace and chiffon would gently lift, flowing like soft waves along the shore–a truly ethereal and graceful design.
“How about this one?” Jennifer asked Seraphina.
Seraphina nodded. “It’s beautiful and elegant, especially with the way the waistline is designed…”
She went on with her thoughts, and as Jennifer listened, her eyes brightened a little. “Sera, do you work in fashion design or something? You seem to know so much.”
Seraphina chuckled softly, I only worked as a sales assistant in a clothing store for a day, so I picked up a bit of knowledge along the way.”
“You’ve worked as a sales assistant?” Jennifer asked, but there wasn’t a hint of condescension in her tone. Instead, she praised, “You must have been trying to get some experience, but then your family probably dragged you back, which is why you only worked for a day, right?”
Jennifer assumed Seraphina was a rich girl since she could frequent the most exclusive gyms in Angoria and wore designer clothes.
“Something like that,” Seraphina responded with a faint smile. If Clarence could be considered the “family“, then yes, he had dragged her back. Otherwise, she could’ve made something of herself in that field.
Tll go try it on, Jennifer told the salesgirl.
“Alright, Ms. Dickens. Please follow me to the fitting room,” the salesgirl replied as she motioned toward the fitting area.
“Sera, come in with me and help me check it out, Jennifer said, completely trusting Seraphina now. So, Seraphina followed her into the fitting room.
Since Jennifer was trying on a limited edition from the current season, the staff escorted her straight to the VIP fitting room upstairs, where the decor was luxurious, as expected.
Two young store assistants gently held up the expensive dress, carefully helping Jennifer change into it. Originally dressed casually, Jennifer’s graceful figure instantly came into focus the moment she slipped into the gown. Her curves were elegantly outlined by the perfectly tailored waistline, making her look absolutely stunning.
It was, without a doubt, the most perfect woman Seraphina had ever seen. To be fair, Seraphina herself had a great figure, but Jennifer possessed an indescribable air. It was the kind of confidence that came from both being a successful woman and growing up in the right family environment. That assuredness made her shine.
Even the store assistants were amazed, showering Jennifer with compliments. “Ms. Dickens, this dress looks–Hke it was made just for you. It fits you perfectly. Even our brand ambassador might not look as good in it as you do
“Ms. Dickens, if you don’t buy this dress, I won’t even want to show it to anyone else. It would be such a waste on someone else, one of the assistants said with a sugary smile, not holding back at all.
Jennifer chuckled softly, admiring her elegant reflection in the mirror. She was quite pleased with the dress herself. Glancing at Seraphina through the mirror, she asked with a smile “What do you think, Sera?”
Seraphina gave a genuine thumbs up and sincerely praised. “Jenny, I completely agree with her. If this dress doesn’t belong to you, it’s worth nothing at all.”
Jennifer chuckled, “You guys are exaggerating. Sera, you’d look just as beautiful in it

Seraphina smiled faintly. This dress is meant for you.”
Yeah, Ms. Dickens, don’t hesitate and don’t bother looking for a one clearly belongs with you. Take it home, the assistant chime
