Chapter 50
Thomas was looking at his phone when he suddenly caught a faint, elegant scent in the air. A shadow fell across his screen. He lifted his head, his cold gaze landing on the girl in front of him without a hint of surprise or admiration. His eyes were indifferent and lazy, giving off an air of effortless cool.
“How much to get into the city?” The girl’s voice was equally cold, her chin slightly raised, exuding a natural sense of pride.
Thomas looked back down at his phone, a wisp of smoke drifting out from between his slightly parted lips, giving him an air of carefree rebellion.
Feeling ignored, the girl lowered her chin a bit. Although her sunglasses hid her eyes, the contours of her face clearly showed her displeasure.
She thought irritably, ‘I can’t believe this guy is ignoring me! Hah. He’s acting all high and mighty, just trying to jack up the price!
“Sixty dollars then. Will you take it?” she offered.
Thomas was speechless, thinking, ‘Does she really think I’m some kind of moto–taxi driver? Is there something wrong with the way I’m dressed, or does she think this motorcycle that costs thousands of dollars isn’t up to her standards?‘
This was a remote area. Taxis were hard to come by, and the weather was scorching. The girl didn’t want to wait any longer, so she raised her offer. “90 dollars!”
Thomas, who had no intention of engaging with her, gave a slight smirk, a hint of cold mockery playing on his lips as he replied without even looking up, “300 dollars.”
The girl straightened in shock, pulling off her sunglasses to reveal a stunningly beautiful face. She looked him over in disbelief and let out a scoff. “You think this bike’s a Rolls Royce?”
Thomas didn’t respond to her cold sarcasm, nor did he even glance at her angelic face after she removed her sunglasses. He had no interest in talking to her, but since she kept pushing, he threw out a response.
He was deliberately naming an outrageous price to shut her up. He had said all he needed to, and he didn’t intend to say
another word.
Thomas blew out the last puff of smoke, tossed the cigarette to the ground, and crushed it under his boot with an icy arrogance that could send chills down anyone’s spine. Seeing this, the girl sucked in a breath, clearly taken aback–it must have been the first time she’d met a guy this full of himself.
With her looks, any guy who laid eyes on her would typically be falling over themselves to please her, terrified of upsetting her even a little. Regardless of their status or background, they all bent over backward to win her favor.
Yet this guy, apart from a somewhat decent face, didn’t seem all that remarkable. And still, he had the nerve to ignore her. Her pride couldn’t handle being treated this coldly.
She grumbled to herself, ‘300 dollars? Who does he think he is, charging that kind of price? Ha!‘
Just as Thomas was about to sit up and start the bike, he suddenly felt the weight shift, and then something warm pressed against his back.
He froze for a second, immediately noticing some distinctly feminine features. In the rearview mirror, he saw the girl’s beautiful and haughty face, her lips painted in a bold orange–red, alluring and provocative. “Go,” she commanded.
Thomas was utterly speechless, thinking, ‘Rich and reckless.
There was a hint of defiance and arrogance in the girl’s eyes as if the extra 300 dollars meant nothing to her. She had a

touch of wildness in her.
Thomas‘ lips curled into a cold smirk. “You’ve got to pay up first.
The girl’s expression immediately turned grim. “That’s not how it works.”
“This is how I work,” Thomas replied indifferently, with an air of arrogance..
The girl was at a loss for words. The area around them was practically deserted, with not a single cab in sight. To make matters worse, her phone was dead, or she wouldn’t have been stuck relying on this guy and his lousy bike.
Realizing there was no way around it, the girl opened her purse, revealing a thick bundle of cash. She casually grabbed more than 300 dollars and handed it to Thomas. “Let’s go,” she instructed.
He glanced down at the money, pulled out ten bills, and then handed the rest back to her. The girl scoffed with an arrogant smile, “Keep it. It’s a tip. Maybe you can use it to upgrade your bike.”
Thomas took a deep breath, clearly annoyed, and tossed the remaining cash back into her lap.
Before she could even pick it up, Thomas revved the engine and sped off. The girl shrieked in terror and instinctively grabbed onto the back rack of the bike while the money scattered into the wind. She was left speechless.
They flew down the road at breakneck speed. The wind whipped through the girl’s hair and dress as she clung tightly to the rack, her palms slick with sweat.
As soon as they hit the city, she couldn’t take it anymore and yelled for him to stop. They were in a bustling area now, with plenty of cabs around, and she was absolutely done with this.
Thomas obliged and hit the brakes hard. The sudden stop caused her to slam into his back, and without thinking, her hand shot out to grab his arm for balance.
For a brief moment, surprise flickered across Thomas‘ face, but it quickly turned cold again. Meanwhile, the girl winced in pain from the impact, her face scrunching up before fury overtook her. “You hit the brakes on purpose, you jerk!”
“Off!” Thomas simply spat out. He really couldn’t be bothered to say more.
The girl, shocked, stammered, “You…” She stepped off the bike, her face drained of color. But before she could fully steady” herself, Thomas sped off on his motorcycle. Rip! The sound of fabric tearing and her scream pierced the air at the same time.
In the rearview mirror, Thomas saw the girl fall to the ground. One side of her dress had gotten caught on the motorcycle, and a large piece of fabric had been ripped off.
He quickly hit the brakes. The girl struggled to push herself up from the ground as he stepped off the bike to help her. She‘ immediately swarted his hand away, glaring at him coldly. Her beautiful, wide eyes were filled with nothing but fury.
The fall had knocked her sunglasses off, leaving her dress badly torn. A large section was hanging pitifully, exposing her knee, which was scraped and started to bleed. Her legs were now fully visible, smooth, and delicate, so striking that it was hard to look away.
Thomas‘ cold expression softened slightly. “Sorry,” he said.
Her chest heaved in anger as she glared at him. “What am I supposed to do now?” she snapped, tugging at her dress.
But one end of the fabric was still stuck in the motorcycle’s wheel, and no matter how hard she pulled, it wouldn’t come loose. Frustrated, she yanked at it even harder, but it remained firmly caught.
She was desperate to maintain her dignity in front of Thomas, yet she kept embarrassing herself, Feeling humiliated, she kicked the motorcycle in frustration before glaring at him with even more anger. Her chest rose and fell as she growled. “Are

you just gonna stand there? Don’t you know how to help?”
Thomas, however, didn’t say a word. Instead, he casually scratched the side of his nose.

The dress was really stuck. Without warning, Thomas bent down, grabbed the torn fabric, and yanked it hard, ripping it completely off. In one swift move, her long gown had turned into a short skirt that barely reached her knees.
The girl stared at Thomas, utterly speechless. He just looked back at her, completely calm. “There. All set.”
