Chapter 88
Mason spoke first. “You’re Thomas, right?” His voice was warm and friendly, looking at Thomas with the same kindness ast when he looked at Seraphina.
Thomas kept his expression neutral and replied simply, “Yeah, that’s me.”
“You did great in that match where you saved the penalty. Mason praised him. “I heard you made the national team?”
“Yeah”
“Good job. You’ve got real talent. I hope you guys can advance in this group stage and make the country proud.” Mason encouraged him
With Mason’s friendly demeanor. Thomas finally managed a slight smile. Thanks.” He then started his motorcycle.
Mason took a small step back
Thomas put on his helmet and rode off
After watching Thomas‘ aloof figure disappear, Mason turned back toward the old neighborhood, a flicker of guilt rising in his eyes.
“Mr. Dickens, are you heading back to the office?” Lucas, who had already gotten out of the car, asked.
No. I’m just going to take a walk around here. Mason replied as he walked toward the community.
Lucas was puzzled. He thought. This neighborhood doesn’t even have a courtyard garden. Where is Mr. Dickens planning
to walk!
Thomas was on his way to Gissing Villa to return some things to Lucia.
Gissing Villa was a suburban villa community, the same place where Lucia had asked him to ride his motorcycle. But halfway there, she couldn’t handle his speed and got off
At the entrance of the community, a large fountain splashed water into the air.
Thomas parked his motorcycle by the roadside, put on sunglasses, and got off with a bag in hand.
The security at the villa community was strict. Usually, outsiders couldn’t get in.
Wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap to hide his face, the security guard didn’t recognize him.
“Just a moment. I’ll call the Gissing family,” the guard said.
He dialed the villa’s intercom, and a housekeeper answered, “Hello,”
The guard said, “Hi, I’m at the community gate, A Mr. Johnson would like to see Ms. Gissing
“Which Ms. Gissing?” the housekeeper asked.
She thought, “There are two ladies in the house.
The guard looked at Thomas “Which Ms. Gissing do you want to see?”
Lucia, Thomas replied calmly.
The guard was familiar with the residents, especially someone a stunning as Lucia. Just by hearing the name, he knew who

she was and told the housekeeper. He wants to see Ms. Lucie
The housekeeper responded, “She isn’t home.” She hung up immediately.
The guard apologized to Thomas. Tm sorry, but she isn’t here. We can’t let you in,”
Thomas sighed, glancing at the bag in his hand. He handed it to the guard. “Then please give this to someone from the Gissing family
The guard didn’t take it, still apologetic. “Sorry, we can’t store items without the homeowner’s consent. If you can reach Ms. Lucia and she agrees to have the item stored here, we can help you”
Thomas thought. She has blocked me, so I couldn’t contact her. I have done everything I could, and with this outcome. I have no other options
Thomas returned to his motorcycle, took off his sunglasses and baseball cap, and was about to put on his helmet when a cold, cautious voice rang out. “What are you doing here?”
Thomas turned slightly to see Kemp. Two feet away, Kemp was surprised and on guard, as if Thomas were a thief trying to steal Lucia away. Kemp asked, “You followed me home?”
Thomas handed the bag over. “Mr. Gissing, these are the clothes and sunglasses I owe Lucia. I couldn’t get into the community earlier, so I need you to pass them to her.”
Kemp scoffed. glancing at the bag without taking it, “She has plenty of clothes and sunglasses that her wardrobe can’t even hold: She doesn’t need yours. Just take it back and don’t use this as an excuse to get close to her. You two have already broken up.
Thomas didn’t say anything more, gave a slight smile, and without putting on his helmet, he rode off on his motorcycle…
Kemp watched the motorcycle disappear, clicking his tongue. “He really has some attitude.
At that moment, a car pulled up. A young man, Daniel Parker, got out, gesturing to Kemp. “Mr. Gissing, please get in.”
Kemp sat in the back seat and leaned back. “Why does Mr. Foster want to see me all of a sudden?”
Daniel replied. “Well, Mr. Foster just received a notice from the headquarter that he needs to attend an important meeting abroad this afternoon. He probably won’t be back for a month. Since your movie is about to start shooting, he wants to finalize the investment as soon as possible. So, he wanted to meet with you before leaving
Kemp nodded and didn’t say anything more.
As they entered the city, traffic suddenly slowed down. At first, they could still move slowly, but soon, the cars came complete stop.

Daniel kept checking his watch and thought, ‘If we continue to be stuck, we won’t be able to see Mr. Foster. He will go to the airport soon!
“How could there be a traffic jam at this time? Daniel murmured.
Kemp checked his watch. Although many people were interested in investing in his film, he preferred Ethan and didn’t want to miss this opportunity. But the traffic was just not moving.
“We’re running out of time, Daniel sighed, picking up his phone. “Mr. Gissing. I’ll call Mr. Foster and let him know we’re Muck in traffic.”
Kemp nodded. While he was eager to collaborate with Ethan, sometimes things just didn’t go as planned, and they’d have to wait for another–opportunity

Kemp looked out the window.
Just as Daniel was about to make the call, Kemp suddenly grabbed his wrist. “Wait.”
Daniel was stunned.
Kemp released Daniel’s wrist and opened the car door.
Just then, as he looked outside, he spotted Thomas on his motorcycle. Although he was wearing a helmet, Kemp recognized his outfit. The cool, aloof demeanor around him was familiar, too. Thomas was by the roadside, taking a call.
Kemp got out of the car and walked up behind Thomas, giving his shoulder a light tap.
Thomas had just finished his call and turned to see Kemp, surprised.
He took off his helmet. “Sir, is there something you need?”
Kemp thought, “What a cocky kid. He doesn’t even bother to flatter me because I am Lucia’s father.
“Take me to Foster Group on Commerce Avenue, Kemp said. “We’re stuck in traffic, and I’m in a hurry. The cars aren’t moving, but your motorcycle can get through. Thanks”
Thomas looked at the unmoving traffic ahead and agreed immediately, “Sure.”
His straightforwardness caught Kemp off guard. He thought Thomas might act a little proud, but he accepted so readily.
Kemp got on the back seat.
Thomas took off his helmet and handed it to Kemp. “If you don’t mi
