Chapter 1
On our seventh anniversary, Edwin Leach made out with his childhood sweetheart on the living
room sofa.
When I walked in, he covered the girl with a blanket and said, “Go cook. Tiara’s hungry.”
Then, he got up and carried Tiara Rangel back to the master bedroom.
Hearing Edwin and Tiara chatting and laughing, I dropped the heavy ingredients in my hands.
Without hesitation, I dialed a number. “Mr. Wagner, I’m in.”
“You and Edwin are getting married soon, right? You sure?”
I tried my best not to sob. “Yes.”
Just after I hung up the phone, Edwin poked his head out of the room.
His face was rosy, and there was a faint red mark on his neck.
Edwin had never brought Tiara back before.
But after I accepted his marriage proposal, he no longer cared about how I felt.
“What are you thinking? Just a few dishes. Hurry up!
“Tiara likes braised pork ribs. Don’t forget.”
I picked up the apron next to me and obediently responded, “I got it.”
Edwin contentedly closed the door.
Inside the room, Edwin and Tiara were laughing.
Outside the room, I was cooking alone.
I did not question him or argue with him.
Quietly, I cooked the last meal for the man I had loved for seven years.
When Edwin saw all the dishes on the table, he coldly handed me a ring.
“Jaliyah, I bought you this ring as promised.”
I looked at the diamond ring shining brightly on Tiara’s ring finger.
I didn’t stop serving the dishes.
I managed to squeeze out a faint smile and said, “Just put it there.”

Edwin didn’t plan his proposal back then, so he had nothing prepared.
He just got down on one knee in front of everyone, looking at me with loving eyes.
“Jaliyah Herrera, will you marry me?”
I answered without hesitation, “Yes,”
I never refused any of Edwin’s requests.
Seven years ago, I agreed to date him.
A week ago, I agreed to marry him.
Tiara looked at the dishes and smiled.
She said to Edwin like a spoiled child, “Edwin, Jaliyah cooks better than my nanny.”
Edwin dotingly lifted her onto the chair.
“You sprained your ankle. Don’t move around. I’ll have her cook for you every day.”
Tiara proudly glanced at me.
“I want seafood tomorrow.”
Edwin nodded as he served her some soup. “No problem.”
I stood by them, watching their happiness and love, like a servant.
Edwin seemed to have noticed something unusual.
He lifted his gaze and looked at me, but soon, his tone turned cold.
“Why are you standing? Sit down and eat.”
I used to envy Tiara.
She gained all of Edwin’s love effortlessly, unlike me.
I had made many efforts to be with Edwin.
He didn’t like the food in the hospital, so I made lunch for him every day.
He said his work at the hospital was busy, so I took over all the household chores.

For the past seven years, Edwin had been my only focus.
But in his eyes, there was only Tiara.

I untied my apron and calmly said, “Enjoy it! I’ve got something at the hospital. Gotta go.”
Tiara sipped her soup.
Then, she said sweetly, “Edwin, who’s gonna wash the dishes later? Maybe I should get you a nanny. They’d do better than Jaliyah.”
Edwin’s hand trembled slightly.
But he still said softly, “Tiara, I know you have money, but don’t waste it. Jaliyah will clean up when she comes back. Let’s eat.”
I fought back my tears as I looked at Edwin. “Edwin, I’m tired. Go find a nanny.”
