Chapter 1
At the class reunion, he came with a beautiful girlfriend, having achieved great success and fame.
She said, “If you hadn’t let go back then, you would be the wife of the Wilkerson Group by now.”
He sat across from her, holding his girlfriend, with a cold expression on his face, saying, “It’s all in the past.”
Everyone did not think the matter was too big and started making a commotion.
Under his gaze, I silently covered the scar on my wrist and forced a smile, saying, “Yes, the two of us… have long been over.”

“I remember back then, it was Elliana who brought up the breakup, right?”
While his girlfriend was in the bathroom, the classmates started gossiping.
Elliana Cordova is me.
Terrance Wilkerson sat across, with a faint smile on his lips, but his eyes were extremely cold.
This is the first time we have met after six years of breaking up.
Everything was a bit unexpected.
I came because the monitor said Terrance wouldn’t come.
I didn’t expect to meet here.
Terrance, now a successful and renowned young entrepreneur in the city, is a returnee talent.
Dressed in a suit and polished shoes, he had a handsome appearance.
The watch on the wrist was invaluable.
Everyone held and respected it.
Looking back at myself, I was no longer as good as before.
“It was indeed she who initiated the breakup.”
Terrance calmly answered the crowd’s questions.
Everyone had their own imagination.
It is nothing more than me being materialistic, unable to endure hardships, choosing the wrong person to rely on, and ending up losing everything.

“Elliana, I heard that you followed that person later, did you go in?”
“Still, I had to bear his debts. Is he coming to this class reunion to ask for money?”
Amidst the mockery of the crowd, Terrance’s calm and profound eyes remained fixed on me, without uttering a word.
I awkwardly smiled and didn’t answer.
“The door was pushed open, and Terrance’s girlfriend walked back in, sensing a strange atmosphere. She smiled and asked.
“What happened when I was not here?”
Terrance broke the silence and gently took her hand, “It’s nothing, just catching up.‘
She calmly took a seat, her gaze fixed on me, and a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.
“Terrance mentioned you to me. If you hadn’t let go back then, you would be the wife of the Wilkerson Group by now.”
Many people appeared to revel in schadenfreude.
In the past, the Cordova family was at the height of their fame. Wherever I went, I was the center of
attention.
This jealousy will not fade away with time, but instead, it will become their reason for throwing
stones at them many years later.
Terrance broke the silence with a cold and irresistible voice, saying, “It’s all in the past.”
Everyone fell silent, understanding that the boss did not want to continue this topic, and began talking about other things.
His girlfriend raised her glass to me and said, “Thank you for letting go, we must invite you when
we get married.”
I silently covered the scar on my wrist and said in a numb tone, “Congratulations.”
“Why didn’t you explain it to him?”
On the phone, my best friend Alma Robles was standing up for me.
The class reunion ended early, and I stood in the cold wind wrapped in a coat, exhaling a breath of
hot air, “He had a girlfriend.”
There was a pause on the other end of the phone.
“Do you have a girlfriend now?” Alma exclaimed in disbelief.

“Um.”
Classmates left in pairs, the brilliance of the streetlights reflecting on the snow, resembling
shattered glass.
“Unfortunately, you had such a hard time seeing him, and you worked so hard for it.”
“Alma, no one would wait for you forever.”
Some words, if not spoken at the time, are pointless when said later, except for adding disgust.
The cold wind blew, making my eyes feel cold and sore. I blinked my watery eyes and said, “I gave
up.”
Even though I had struggled and managed to pull myself out of the quagmire after all these years, it
was too late to reunite with him in the most dignified way.
“Okay, then you come back and say it again.”
