Chapter 3
When I received another message from Edwin, it was 6 p.m.
It read, “Jaliyah, I had been arranged for an emergency surgery. Did you eat yet?”
I had long anticipated that Edwin would be like this.
He never showed up when he asked me out to have a meal.
Every time he was called away by Tiara for various reasons.
This time was no different. Through the window, I captured the figures of Edwin and Tiara coming
back together. Then I signed the agreement given by the hospital director, Brian Wagner.
Noticing me in a distracted state, Brian couldn’t help but express concern, “Jaliyah, are you having a disagreement with Dr. Leach on this matter?”
I awkwardly shook my head and said, “It’s fine, Mr. Wagner.
Brian still couldn’t rest assured, saying, “Jaliyah, you are my favorite student. The medical
conditions of the hospital where Vicente works are difficult, and they need a doctor like you. So, I
had no choice but to let you go there.
“As for Dr. Leach, I will ask him to come to my office and convince him on your behalf tomorrow.”
I refused with a smile, “Mr. Wagner, I will explain it to him clearly. Currently, Vicente needs me
more.”
Edwin never needed my love.
All he needed was a nanny, who would be available at his beck and call.
To him, I was like a necessity for life.
It was regretful to abandon it, yet bothersome to keep.
Tiara was different from me.
She was the one that Edwin held dearly in his heart.
Tiara used to go abroad for a period of time.
During her absence, every time Edwin got drunk, he would lie in my arms and repeatedly call her
name.
I believed that distance could make feelings fade.
I had been waiting for Edwin to turn around and see me.

But it didn’t happen, as Tiara came back.
After Tiara returned from abroad, Edwin seemed like a completely different person.
Unfortunately, his tenderness and his love were never for me.
The afterglow of the setting sun caught my sight.
I slid my phone screen and replied to Edwin, “Yes, I did.
“Edwin, can we talk tonight?”
Two hours later, I finished packing my luggage. It was not until then that I received his perfunctory reply.
It read, “Alright, but Tiara insists on going to a bar. If you’re in a hurry, you can come to me. Here is the location on the E–map.”
All my stuff during the seven years of life fit into just one suitcase.
I swept around. This was my meticulously arranged home.
However, it was filled with various belongings of Tiara.
This suitcase was as small as I was in Edwin’s heart.
I put my luggage in the trunk and drove to the bar where Edwin was.
When I entered the private room, Edwin was clasping Tiara in his arms and playing games.
Upon seeing my presence, Edwin le

of Tiara.
Edwin’s eyes were full of displeasure. “Jaliyah, you killed the vibe.”
Tiara raised her fist and softly punched Edwin in the chest.
“It’s all your fault, Edwin, for distracting me and making me lose. I won’t drink this wine.”
Edwin enjoyed Tiara’s coquetry and finished the wine next to him in one gulp.
I approached and held him up, saying, “Edwin, I have something to tell you.”
Intoxicated, Edwin had no intention of listening to me.
He pushed me away, and I was hit against the door, making a low, painful sound.
“Jaliyah, I am not interested in whatever you want to say.
“Get out and go back home right now.”
