Chapter 6
To my surprise, Edwin still remembered that.
When I pursued Edwin, I always liked to give him choice questions.
“Edwin, do you want me to be your girlfriend? Please answer ‘Yes‘ or ‘Okay‘.”
“Edwin, would you like to be with me? Please answer ‘Yes‘ or ‘Okay‘.”
And so on…
There was no rejecting option to all the questions.
I didn’t expect him to remember. However, memories couldn’t change anything.
His attempt to keep me was just a fleeting moment, not enough to move me.
I didn’t want to get too involved with him, so I shut the door behind me.
“Edwin, now I want to break up with you.”
Edwin’s smile froze at my words.
*. “Jaliyah, am I not good to you? Or is it because of Tiara?”
I was silent.
He explained, “Jaliyah, you are the one I want to marry. As for Tiara, I am just playing around with her. I promise to cut ties with her once we get married.
“We are all adults. Everyone makes mistakes. Tiara is just my obsession for the past, and you are my future.”
I never knew that Edwin could spit out such crazy words.
I pushed Edwin away indifferently.
“Edwin, I’ve said we have broken up. It’s none of my business for who you want to marry.”
Edwin began to grow impatient as I repeatedly rejected him.
He stepped forward and threw me against the wall, holding me with his hands.
“Jaliyah, I’ve told you we will get married, so you’d better wait for me obediently.”
Then, without saying a word, he pulled me into the elevator.
Edwin brought me to a restaurant.
He took the menu and ordered food, without asking for my opinion.

“Jaliyah, look, these are all your favorite. Come on, enjoy the food.”
I glanced at the food and said, “Edwin, they are your favorite, not mine.”
I liked spicy food while Edwin liked sweet food.
Over the past seven years, I had made a great effort to adapt to his taste.
I never cooked spicy food for him, not even once, although that was my favorite.
In the seven years with Edwin, I seemed to have been assimilated by him.
I listened to him, surrounded him, and loved him.
I became unlike myself.
Fortunately, it was not too late. Now I was turning into myself little by little.
“Edwin, none of these are to my liking.”
Edwin looked puzzled. “How could it be? We’ve always eaten food like this.”
“Jaliyah, tell me what food you like. In the future, I will personally cook for you.”
when I felt extremely thirsty due to a high fever, I weakly asked him if he could help pour me a glass of water.
What I got was a cold rejection from him.
In my memories, Edwin had never done anything for me.
Now I was amused by his lame acting skills.
“Edwin, there is no future between you and me.”
Edwin chuckled and said, “Jaliyah, I know you’re mad at me. It’s my fault to buy you a small diamond ring. Later, I’ll buy you a bigger one, okay?”
Edwin did not even bother to change his lines when coaxing me.
He was using the same method to coax me as he did to Tiara.
I had no patience to continue acting with him.
“Edwin, don’t use the same tricks to coax me as you did to Tiara. You make me sick.
“Let’s not disturb each other in the future.”
Edwin stood up in a panic and tightly gripped my hand.
“Jaliyah, I cannot live without you.”
