Chapter 242
Seeing that Teresa was still hesitating, Yasmine reminded her, “There’s a place for desserts at the Global Exchange Tower called Dessert Oasis. It’s my favorite. If you can’t think of anything else to do, why not take an hour to try it? Life’s been hard enough, why not indulge in something sweet?”
After thinking for a moment, Teresa finally wrote ‘Dessert Oasis‘ in the first cell on the chart.
Yasmine continued, “Think it over, jot down everything you want to do like a list. Just like those things you normally wouldn’t splurge on or eat, jot them all down.”
With that suggestion, after some hesitation, Teresa finally wrote a few more things on her list.
“Wanna go bungee jumping? Awesome, I’ve heard it’s like a near–death experience. People say it’s like you’re reborn once you walk away from it,” Yasmine said. She continued, “But you forgot the distance. Soucrity doesn’t have a place for bungee jumping. Even with a four–hour round trip, bungee jumping takes an hour.”
Teresa obediently crossed out four boxes on the paper and wrote ‘bungee jumping‘ in the fifth box.
“What about your family? Don’t you want to spend your last days with them?” someone asked.
Teresa thought for a moment and decided to devote an entire day to spending time with her family. Under Yasmine’s hint, she filled out one box after another. When there were just three hours left, Yasmine asked, “Do you have an idol?”
“Yes.”
“Then go to a concert or a fan meet. If they’re your idol, you’ve got to see them at least once,” Yasmine suggested.
Teresa nodded and added ‘concert‘ to her list.
“Don’t forget about the time it takes to get there!” Yasmine reminded her.
Teresa crossed out two more boxes. Just as she was about to cross out another, she muttered, “Not enough time.” Yasmine picked up the schedule, looked at it with admiration, and commented, “Wow, that looks like a packed schedule. There’s really a lot to do. Aside from a few concerts, did you think of anything else?”
“Flying kites, roller coasters…”
“Do you feel like three days isn’t enough time to do everything left?” Yasmine asked softly.
Teresa nodded. Even though she sometimes felt like giving up on life, when she thought about everything she hadn’t done, all the dreams she hadn’t chased, and all the regrets she hadn’t made up for, three days just wasn’t enough.
Yasmine smiled as she neatly folded the piece of paper. “If three days aren’t enough for you, then even if you had a month, the list of things to do would just keep growing. Life is about experiencing each stage yourself, whether it’s a year or ten years.” She pushed the paper towards Teresa. “Now, I’m telling you that you’ve got plenty of time ahead, not just three–days- worth. You have enough time to do whatever you want. If you’re feeling lost, why not start with this list you wrote and work through it first?”
After a while, Teresa nodded.
“Can you tell me what happened now?” Yasinine asked.
Teresa nervously clenched her hands, “I’ve been diagnosed with a disease.
“A disease? For some reason. Yasinine felt a pang in her heart

“It’s HIV, and it’s incurable,” Teresa continued. “I only have my mom at home; I’m from a single–parent household. We’re too poor to afford treatment, so I just have to wait for the end. My boyfriend gave it to me, but he’s denying it. If my family finds out about the pregnancy, my mom will be devastated.”
“That’s not true, your mom would only care about you even more. This isn’t your fault. Besides, they have medicine now, and medical advancements are significant.” said Yasmine.
Teresa wiped her tears away, “Teacher, is there really still hope for me?”
“Of course, there’s definitely hope,” Yasmine said patiently. “Research shows that in recent years, very few people have died from AIDS. Taking medicine can ease the condition.”
“What if I don’t have money to buy the medicine?” Teresa asked with a bitter smile.
“That’s nothing to worry about,” Yasmine assured her. “You can go to the infection clinic at the hospital and apply for free AIDS medication. There’s no need to fret about that.”
Teresa’s expression relaxed a bit. “But if my mom finds out, she’ll kill me.” She was so nervous she almost burst into tears; she really wanted to die.
Yasmine slowly walked over to her and held her hand, but Teresa quickly pulled away. “No! It might spread.”
“Don’t be afraid, Teresa. Can you try doing the things in the list first?” Yasmine knew she had lost interest in life, and her task was to help Teresa regain it.
Teresa hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.
Just when things seemed to have settled down, an unexpected change occurred. Three days later, a crowd gathered at Aurelith University’s entrance. Two men held up a banner that read: [Aurelith University Psychology Consultant Kills! Justice for the Dead!] At the gate, a middle–aged woman was crying her heart out while still wearing mourning clothes.
The media reporters were in an uproar. After all, this involved Yasmine, Xavier’s ex–wife, Mr. Russell’s rumored girlfriend, and the first–place winner of the Dekker Competition. Any of these titles alone would attract attention, but now the prestigious pride of Aurelith University was actually implicated in a death.
This matter shot to the top of the trending searches in just an hour, and no one would believe there wasn’t some behind- the–scenes manipulation.
Yasmine arrived on campus, unaware of what had happened. As soon as she reached the gate, someone stopped her. Shocked, she looked at the giant banner and was drawn to the memorial photo held by a middle–aged woman. She recognized the person in the photo; they had talked for a full hour. It was Teresa, and she was dead.
The middle–aged woman and the onlookers immediately recognized Yasmine. Desperately, the woman grabbed Yasmine’s hand, “It’s her! Look, everyone, she’s the one who caused my daughter’s death!” The media reporters stood before the two, furiously snapping photos.
“Ma’am, please calm down!” Yasmine said in a deep voice.
“You want me to calm down? Then tell me, how am I supposed to calm down? My daughter is dead, and it’s your fault. I could just tear you apart right now, and you want me to be calm How ridiculous!” Ureña shouted.
Yasmine furrowed her brows, “What on earth is going on here?”
Urena cried out, “How can you even ask me what happened? Can you see for yourself?” She suddenly collapsed to the ground, wailing. “My daughter! Your death was so tragic! It’s all this vile woman’s fault, she caused your demise.”
“Madam Urena, I don’t understand what you mean. How am I responsible for Teresa’s ruisfortune?” Yasmine asked
In front of everyone. Urena pulled something out of her bag. “This is the suicide note Teresa leit behind, Since you claim it

has nothing to do with you, why don’t you read it out loud for us?”
Yasmine took the note and, sure enough, it was written in Teresa’s handwriting.
