Tanner just stared at Richard in disbelief. “If you don’t give me money, who else in Aldonpolis wants to receive your investment, then? Isn’t it better for you to spend your money here before returning to Geltrolonia without any worries?”

“What makes you think no one wants to work with Mr. Golding? Mr. Golding, I hope you’ll take my offer into consideration.” I produced the business proposal that I had prepared in advance. “As long as you invest in Rosenbloom Group, we promise we’ll net you annual profits no less than the sum written here”

Richard shot me a meaningful glance before he began flipping through the proposal.

Uneasiness began to flood Tanner’s senses. He pointed at me while yelling, “Mr. Golding, it’s fine if you don’t invest in me! But you mustn’t invest in her!

“She’s a socialite groomed and raised by the Rosenbloom family! Not only that, but she’s also a promiscuous slut! Previously, she’s been pursuing me relentlessly, but now, she’s planning to seduce you!

“Just now, she was even spending time with that old geezer! You should’ve seen how old that geezer was! He looks like he’s about to keel over and die anytime soon! Seriously, I have no idea how she managed to target someone of that age–”

A bodyguard leaned in to whisper the incident into Richard’s ear.

He was quick to slap Tanner before the latter could finish his sentence. Then, he glared at Tanner coldly.

“How dare you insult my father!”

That slap left Tanner dumbfounded. “Who? That old coot? He-”

That was when the old man, who was actually Oliver, spoke up. “Since you think that lowly of me, then please leave right now,”

He waved a hand, effectively summoning two bodyguards to his side.

“You’re Oliver Golding? That can’t be right! How could you show up in Aldonpolis? Richard was supposed to be the only one here!”

That was because Richard had called his father to fly to Aldonpolis overnight just to make him look good. Really, Tanner was a dumbass!

At that moment, someone recognized Tanner. “Isn’t he the jerk who forced that senior year student into taking her own life some time ago?” “You’re right! That’s the one! No wonder I felt that he looked super familiar!”

There were people who didn’t know what happened, so the person who recognized Tanner filled them in on the incident in full detail. Soon, everyone glared at Tanner in disgust. They looked as though they were about to skin him alive.

The bodyguards threw Tanner out right away. Everyone else in the banquet hall was intimidated by how ruthless they were being.

Although Tanner got kicked out of the hotel, he still refused to give up. He began contacting the business partners he had worked with in his previous life. As far as he remembered, those people respected him greatly. After all, they always referred to him as “Mr. Rosenbloom” whenever they met him.

What Tanner didn’t know was that those business partners respected the Rosenblooms, who had been backing him up in his past life. He was nothing without the Rosenblooms.

When the business partners found out that Tanner wished to meet up with them, they refused to see him right away. Not only that, but they also ordered their receptionists to block him right away.

After all, they had heard about what had happened at the banquet. Apparently, a crazy ex-inmate who had dropped out of high school kept looking for business partners. Those people didn’t want to become the butt of the joke in the industry by associating with Tanner.

Tanner scoped every nook and cranny of Aldonpolis. Alas, all he received was rejection.

One day, he ran to my villa and stopped my car.

“Pearl, I agree to become your boyfriend. As long as you transfer all of Richard’s investment funds into my account, I’ll forgive everything you’ve done so far! But from now on, you’re not allowed to seduce-”

Before Tanner could finish speaking, the window of the Rolls-Royce was slowly lowered, revealing Richard’s handsome face.

“Oh? Are you going to pursue my girlfriend now, Mr. Rosenbloom?”

Tanner looked shell-shocked, to say the least. “You… You two are…”

Richard waved the bouquet of flowers in his hand. “You didn’t bring this along with you? Pearl told me she loved the flowers, you know. That means you have no right to compete with me for her hand now.”

“That’s impossible! Pearl isn’t a materialistic woman! She only loves me! She was willing to simp over me for ten long years just to get my attention! How is it possible for her to not love me anymore? Get out!

“Pearl! Hey, Pearl! Get out of the car, damn it!”

Tanner’s reflection could be seen stamping his feet anxiously on the spot in the rearview mirror.

“Are you really not going to take my proposal into consideration, Ms. Rosenbloom? Let me become your boyfriend and deal with that man on your behalf.”

I just shook my head in response.

Richard was a playboy. When he and Tanner expanded their business in my past life, he kept cycling through his girlfriends, who all happened to be celebrities. Right now, he was just interested in me simply because I was a fresh face to him. Besides, dating wasn’t as interesting as making money.

“Thank you, Mr. Golding, but I can handle Tanner myself. Can you help me find someone, though?”

Tanner kept soiling my gaze with his presence every day. In that case, I decided to surprise him with a nice gift.

I found him a rich lady to entertain himself with. It solely depended on his efforts whether or not he could succeed this time.
