The initials should have been “PR”. How did it become “TR”?

I checked the necklaces a few times. After taking a better look at the engraving, I quietly swore at Tanner Rosenbloom. That bastard had tampered with the engraved initials.

I slumped on the chair helplessly.

Tanner smirked and came up to me. He whispered in a barely audible voice, “I might have accepted your money and gifts, but that means nothing at all. Do not look at me that way; I’ll never catch feelings for you.”

After the next class started, my homeroom teacher, Emilia Cressen, suddenly summoned me away from the classroom. I heard my classmates gossiping behind my

“Ms. Cressen must have found out about the theft and called Pearl to the office for a good scolding! Could you imagine how Pearl tried to deny the theft?”

“Pfft! She’s dreaming!”

“She’s lucky to have run into Tanner. He brushed it off because he was rich and generous. If I were him, I would have given her hell for stealing a 60-thousand- dollar item from me!”

“Tanner Rosenbloom is too charming. I’m afraid I have fallen head over heels for him!”

After I left the classroom, Ms. Cressen immediately gave me a good scolding. “Pearl Rosenbloom, I’ve seen many social climbers like you. Your shame has no bounds! Just look into the mirror. You’re no match for Tanner; he’s not a man you could covet!

“Do you know who he is? How dare you steal his stuff? You should count your lucky stars he didn’t file a police report, or you’d be done for! I can’t believe you’re already stealing stuff at this age. I’ll have to talk to your parents later!”

Ms. Cressen rattled off a list of my alleged crimes, and I seethed at her selfish, snobbish behavior.

When Ms. Cressen learned that Tanner was in her class, she bestowed many roles on him, such as the class president and valedictorian, Taking Tanner’s hint, she showered Maisie with benefits as well.

Sadly, I, the Rosenbloom heiress, did not get any awards despite being top of the class in the most recent monthly test.

Ms. Cressen seethed at me. “Mr. Garrett made me get you! I bet the Rosenblooms have found out about the theft! Watch your mouth; you’d better not say anything wrong and ruin my teacher’s evaluation.”

I rolled my eyes at Ms. Cressen while thinking, “Don’t worry about your evaluation. You might not even get to keep your job!”

I stepped into the principal’s office. When I saw the two men in their seats, I called out to them sweetly, “Dad! Herbert!”
