Chapter 185 

Julia did not say much to Lucia. She was afraid she would spill the beans if Lucia asked too much. 

To lure Arya out, she had to hide it even from Lucia. 

She immediately hung up the phone. When Lucia called again, Julia turned the phone to silent mode. 

As soon as she turned around, Valerie looked at her in confusion. “Julia, are you divorcing Harry for real? Isn’t that giving Arya a chance? I told you before that Arya is setting you up to make you divorce Harry. If you divorce, you’re falling into her trap.” 

She pulled Julia up anxiously. “Let’s go. I’ll bring you to Otis. The three of us will explain to Harry together. I don’t believe that Harry doesn’t trust you that much.” 

Julia could see Valerie’s concern for her, but she had to hide it from even Valerie. Julia could only pray in her heart that Valerie could forgive her. 

“Valerie, I’ve already explained to Harry countless times. Our marriage has come to an end. It was a fake marriage before. Now, we’re both giving each other the best outcome.” She pried Valerie’s hand off her wrist. “Go back. Don’t worry about me. Let me be alone.” 

Valerie pursed her lips. She still hoped to persuade Julia. 

‘However… Valerie couldn’t help but think, ‘With Julia’s stubborn personality, how can she listen to me?” 

“Alright, then think about it carefully. Don’t miss out on the person you love. If you admit defeat without fighting for it, that’s not the Julia I know.” After Valerie said this, she turned around resolutely. 

‘Since Harry wouldn’t listen to Julia’s explanation, I’ll go to Otis and we’ll go to Harry together to explain to him. Nothing had happened between Julia and Otis. Is Harry blind? How can he not believe Julia?‘ Valerie thought unhappily. 

When Valerie arrived at Cooper Group, Otis was already packing his things. 

He was carrying a large box and had just passed Valerie’s desk. 

“Otis. Put down the box first. Come with me to find Harry and explain it clearly. You’ve seen the rumors online. Harry refuses to believe Julia no matter what. Their marriage is going to end like this.” Valerie anxiously snatched the big box in Otis’s hand. 

She wanted to drag him to look for Harry. 

Otis looked like he didn’t want to. “Valerie, don’t be too agitated. Harry doesn’t even trust Julia at all. They’ve been married for three years, after all. As Julia’s husband, he doesn’t trust his wife at all. Is it useful for me to explain?” 

“But… Harry doesn’t believe that nothing happened between you and Julia. Julia’s words alone aren’t enough for him to trust. If you come with me, he will listen.” Valerie felt that Otis was also their friend and must hope Julia would be happy. 

“I don’t want to go. Besides, we can’t guarantee that we can meet Harry even if we go to Wright Group. I think they’ll chase us away when we reach Wright Group.” Otis picked up the box on the ground again and sighed. “I still have to report to the new company. I’ll leave first.” 

Valerie could only watch as Otis left. 

She kept feeling that Otis was a little strange. 

Asher and his assistant stood at the entrance of the design department.

Asher strode over and did not stop Otis. Instead, he came to Valerie. “What did you say you wanted to explain to Harry with Otis?” 

When Valerie saw Asher, it was as if she had seen her savior. Her mind raced. ‘Isn’t Mr. Cooper and Mr. Wright good friends? Perhaps I can get Mr. Cooper to persuade Mr. Wright.’ 

“Mr. Cooper, you came at the right time. Nothing happened between Julia and Otis last night. Mr. Wright misunderstood their relationship. We were all drugged. How could they do anything? Please help Julia persuade Harry. He has already chased her out of the Wright family.” Valerie looked very anxious. 

Asher was stunned. ‘Harry has already chased Julia out? That’s a good opportunity! 

“Okay, I will try to persuade Harry. Just go and do your job. As for Julia, the company can give her a break. Otherwise, it won’t be good if she works in a bad mood.” Asher smiled gently. “By the way, send me the location of Julia’s current residence. I can represent the company to check on her.” 

Valerie did not suspect anything and immediately told Asher Julia’s exact address. 

No matter how anxious Valerie was, she could only continue working. 

Julia had applied for leave, so Valerie had to work harder. Otherwise, Julia would be extremely busy when she returned. On the other side, Asher passed through the design department. Unexpectedly, he met Kathy at the corner.

Asher looked indifferent. “I don’t know what you mean.” 

“You’ve had a crush on her for so many years, and then she was snatched away by your good friend. Weren’t you waiting for the day they misunderstood each other? Sometimes, you never know the outcome if you don’t work hard. Or do you still want be cowardly self?” Kathy said bluntly, “I admit I like you, so I want you to ask for an answer. When that answer makes you give up, perhaps you can see my existence.”

The memory of the earthquake when he was seven years old and the bottle of yogurt given to him by the four–year–old Julia next door resounded in Asher’s mind. 

He stopped being a coward because of that bottle of yogurt. 

However, he was extremely cowardly when he faced Julia and never dared to confess his love to her. 

His hand gripped his coffee cup uneasily. He couldn’t convince himself to pursue Julia bravely.
