Shannon felt a bit helpless, thinking, ‘Celeste can be a bit too decisive sometimes. Will she ever change?
Putting down her phone, she turned to look at Randall and saw he was still on the phone; his expression remained
unchanged while he listened to the other person talking. He nodded from time to time, his aloof, serious face nothing but
attractive.
She looked down and noticed hy bulging Adam’s apple bob as he spoke. Blinking, she pressed against it all of a sudden, causing him to stop talking and turn to look at her.
Not feeling guilty at all, she rested her chin on her hand, blinked at him, and grinned heartily. Her bright eyes lit up with a sly glint, and her eyelashes were extremely long and curly.
Randall stared at her for a few seconds before turning back and said to the person on the phone flatly. “That’s it for now.” Then he hung up the phone and raised his eyebrow at her. “What was that?”
“I was seducing you,” she said righteously.
His eyelashes trembled a bit as he rolled his eyes at her. “You aren’t shy at all, are you?”
“Why should I be? You’re my husband. No matter what, we’re legally married. Right?” She even winked at him.
Hearing her call him husband in such a sweet voice, Randall felt his eyelid twitching, unable to catch his breath for a short moment, and something tugging at his heartstrings
Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he knew she was doing it again, snorting, “You’re using the same trick again. Enjoying yourself, Shannon?”
Blinking again, she leaned closer to him. “Yeah. Any trick is fine as long as it works. After all, Audrey, Megan, Nicole, and Celia are so nice to me. If I don’t try harder, I’ll feel guilty.”
Feeling a bit helpless, he said, looking at her, “I told you already. I married you so that you could be my excuse to get my family off my back; it didn’t mean you had to endure anything.
Shannon smiled. “I’m not enduring anything. I just want to do something in return because your family is so nice to me. Otherwise, I won’t be at ease.”
She took his hand on the seat and forced her fingers between his fingers so that their fingers interlocked. “Randall, just say yes. You won’t lose anything anyway. Well! Say something.”
“Say what?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Say…” She blushed with shyness and soon calmed down, continuing righteously. “Say you’ll get me pregnant so that I can have a baby girl. You know that’s what your family wants, right?”
The atmosphere was once again awkward due to his silence. Shy and anxious, she leaned closer to him and stared at him, her eyes sparkling. “I’m pretty, and you won’t lose anything. Why the silence?”
He pulled out his hand, pushed her face away from him in feigned disgust, and smiled evilly, Tm the man of many women’s dreams. You think you get to sleep with me so easily? S properly. If you get any ideas again, get out and walk home
Shannon was speechless for a second. Sensing his firm attitude, she knew she had failed again. Sighing, she leaned back in the car seat and snorted, whispering. “You’re so petty. It’s not like we’ve never slept together. Anyway, I’m not giving up.”
The car was quiet, so even though she was whispering, he still heard her. With a half–smile, he turned to look at her and said calmly, “What did you say?”

Silently complaining that he was such a pain in the ass, she lied, “What? No. No one in Lorston will think of you, the noble Mr. Rowe, as a chauffeur, unless they want to get their ass s kicked.
“Besides, we’re married, right? Though our marriage is in name only, it’s still acknowledged by the law. Of course, I should act naturally when around you. Or do you want me to act as if I’m one of your subordinates?”
Randall clicked his tongue and didn’t press further.
As they reached home, Yolanda had already set up the dinner in the villa. Since Daniel and Audrey didn’t live together with their sons, they had dinners separately.
Though Shannon was new to the family. Yolanda already knew her dietary preferences well, and the table was set with food. prepared by chefs hired from abroad at high prices, each dish excellent in color, aroma, and taste, same as those from a Michelin three–star restaurant.
Shannon was so full that she collapsed straight into her chair, not being able to get up.
She wasn’t pretentious when around Randall at all, showing her true self instead. Looking at her, he said teasingly, “You just said you wouldn’t give up. I guess you have a change of mind.”
It took a second for Shannon to realize he was referring to her earlier claim of seducing him. She waved her hand lazily. “Workers need rest, and so do 1. I’m resting now. After I recover my strength, I will hit on you again tomorrow.”
The corner of Randall’s mouth twitched. Seeing that lazy look on her face, he smiled, stood up, and said, “I see. I was thinking about giving you a chance, but you don’t seem very keen, so… never mind.”
She was stunned for a second and then reacted. “What? Wait…” She got up quickly from the chair and ran after him, but he was already upstairs.
Standing downstairs, she pondered, ‘Even if 1 go upstairs now, all I see will be his closed bedroom door, and I seriously doubt if hell open the door for me”
Sighing, she heard her phone ring. She thought, ‘Forget it. I’ll think of something the next time. Whether he agrees or not today, I’ve already had plans with Celeste tonight.
Celeste was already at the door of the estate. Shannon went upstairs, got some clothes to change into, and then was going to tell Randall only to be told by Yolanda that he had gone out.
Raising an eyebrow, she said, “I see. I’m heading out, too. Yolanda if he comes back and asks about me, tell him I’m with my bestie.”
As soon as she got into the car, Celeste arched an eyebrow at her clothes with a look of disgust. “Gee, Shannon, I’m taking you to a bar to enjoy ourselves, OK? Why are you dressed like we’re going to attend a lecture?”
