At the same time, Shannon walked out and happened to hear his words. She sneered, “Great idea. Thanks, Dudley. If you don’t apologize to me, I won’t let you off.”
“Shannon!” Dudley was even more pissed off at the sight of her. You’ve grown bolder. Do you really think you’re so untouchable now? I suggest you apologize to us now, or you’ll regret it soon.”
Sneering, she said indifferently, “I’ll give you a chance. Apologize, and I won’t beat you again.”
“You… Shannon, don’t go too far. You don’t want to end up crying.” Dudley threatened.
Arching an eyebrow, she looked at him with a half–smile. “Really? Oh, I’m so scared. But I don’t think you’ll get to see me cry. You, however, ended up crying after I beat you up last time
Dudley snapped, “Stop making things up. When did I ever cry?”
“Guess I remember it wrong then,” she said casually, looking over them, “aren’t you here to settle scores with me? Stop wasting time making empty threats. Chop–chop.
“I’m in the middle of enjoying my coffee. Get this over with so I can get back to my afternoon tea with my family.”
Hearing this, all the Lanes present were pissed off. Cliff said, “Shannon, have some shame. You pissed off Mom and Dad, and you hurt Miriam’s face. Don’t you feel guilty at all?”
Chuckling nonchalantly, Shannon moved her wrists. “No, I don’t. I always derive pleasure from helping others. Now that you come to me, asking for some beating, I’ll be more than willing to fulfill your wishes. Why should I feel guilty?”
“Don’t waste any more time talking to her.” Dudley couldn’t endure it anymore and reached out, wanting to grab her arm. Her eyes turned cold as she dodged. Caught off guard, Dudley stumbled and almost fell to the ground.
She sneered, a hint of mockery flashing across her eyes, “You’re so weak, Dudley.”
He blushed with anger, feeling utterly humiliated. Pointing at her, he snapped, “Talking big is all you’ve got, Shannon. If you’re really that capable, don’t dodge. Let’s fight head–on.”
Squinting, Shannon spoke, her eyes turning stern, “Sure.” As he pounced at her again, she grabbed his wrist, yanked him, and kicked him in the butt. “How’s this working out for you, dear Dudley?”
