Shannon snorted with a disdainful smile and walked away.
Compared with Miriam, who was well dressed up, she wasn’t exactly exquisite–she was simply in a light grey tracksuit and had a cap on her head.
But now, it suddenly dawned on everyone that Shannon was so beautiful. When she became serious, she oppressive and charming.

Those girls witnessing the whole scene blushed, amazed by how cool Shannon was. They almost became her fangirls at
once.
Noticing their reaction, Miriam gritted her teeth, pissed off at how quickly they betrayed her and were bewitched by Shannon.
She lowered her head to hide the disappointment in her eyes, thinking, ‘It’s fine. Onlookers don’t matter. I’ll just go back home and complain. As long as Lincoln, Camilla, Clifford, and the others believe me, I won’t lose.‘
Meanwhile, Shannon totally forgot about Miriam after she left school. To her surprise, shortly after she went back to the Rowe family’s estate, the sons of the Lanes showed up.
When they arrived, she was having afternoon tea with Audrey and her sisters–in–law. As the housekeeper mentioned the threatening looks on the Lanes‘ faces, Audrey was stunned and looked at Shannon. “Do you know what’s this about, Shannon?” she asked.
Shannon chuckled, “They’re probably here to make things right for Miriam. She came to the school this afternoon, spouting nonsense, and I slapped her.”
Instead of getting angry, Audrey slapped the table and said with admiration, “Well done. She deserved it. Did you hurt your hand? I’ll ask Randall to arrange for some bodyguards to follow you. If this ever happens again, they’ll do it for you.”
Shannon smiled and looked at her, “Audrey, you’ll spoil me.”
“Nonsense. You’re such a good girl and will never get spoiled. I don’t think I’ve pampered you enough yet.” Audrey frowned. “You don’t have to come out. We’ll defend you.”
Megan nodded, looking stern. “They’re a bunch of fools who don’t even know you’re the one they should treasure. How stupid.”
Celia snorted and patted the back of Shannon’s hand, “Don’t be afraid, Shannon. I’ll make sure they regret it.”
Nicole chimed in, “The Lanes are so unreasonable. Shannon, you’ve cut ties with them already. They got some balls coming here.”
“Chill. I can deal with them.” Shannon’s eyes glowed with confidence.
Audrey didn’t stop Shannon because she had faith in Shannon.
Outside the gate, the Lanes had grown impatient due to the long wait. Clifford pulled a long face. “The Rowes are going too far. They don’t take us seriously at all. We’ve waited here long enough to become a joke.”
“Perhaps they aren’t the ones to blame. Shannon is inside. I bet she’s behind this,” Dudley gritted his teeth and said with hatred.
Todd narrowed his eyes slightly, looking a bit angry. “Either way, she deserves a lesson. She’s so arrogant and willful, and Mom and Dad have been sick because of her. Instead of realizing her mistakes, she slapped Miriam today.”

Dudley said through gritted teeth, his eyes flickering, “Indeed. We won’t let her off unless she apologizes to us.”

At the same time, Shannon walked out and happened to hear his words. She sneered, “Great idea. Thanks, Dudley. If you don’t apologize to me, I won’t let you off.”
“Shannon!” Dudley was even more pissed off at the sight of her. You’ve grown bolder. Do you really think you’re so untouchable now? I suggest you apologize to us now, or you’ll regret it soon.”
Sneering, she said indifferently, “I’ll give you a chance. Apologize, and I won’t beat you again.”
“You… Shannon, don’t go too far. You don’t want to end up crying.” Dudley threatened.
Arching an eyebrow, she looked at him with a half–smile. “Really? Oh, I’m so scared. But I don’t think you’ll get to see me cry. You, however, ended up crying after I beat you up last time
Dudley snapped, “Stop making things up. When did I ever cry?”
“Guess I remember it wrong then,” she said casually, looking over them, “aren’t you here to settle scores with me? Stop wasting time making empty threats. Chop–chop.
“I’m in the middle of enjoying my coffee. Get this over with so I can get back to my afternoon tea with my family.”
Hearing this, all the Lanes present were pissed off. Cliff said, “Shannon, have some shame. You pissed off Mom and Dad, and you hurt Miriam’s face. Don’t you feel guilty at all?”
Chuckling nonchalantly, Shannon moved her wrists. “No, I don’t. I always derive pleasure from helping others. Now that you come to me, asking for some beating, I’ll be more than willing to fulfill your wishes. Why should I feel guilty?”
“Don’t waste any more time talking to her.” Dudley couldn’t endure it anymore and reached out, wanting to grab her arm. Her eyes turned cold as she dodged. Caught off guard, Dudley stumbled and almost fell to the ground.
She sneered, a hint of mockery flashing across her eyes, “You’re so weak, Dudley.”
He blushed with anger, feeling utterly humiliated. Pointing at her, he snapped, “Talking big is all you’ve got, Shannon. If you’re really that capable, don’t dodge. Let’s fight head–on.”
Squinting, Shannon spoke, her eyes turning stern, “Sure.” As he pounced at her again, she grabbed his wrist, yanked him, and kicked him in the butt. “How’s this working out for you, dear Dudley?”
