Beatrice was crying pitifully, which broke Myra’s heart. She pulled a long face, and upon seeing that the bodyguards not far away remained still, she scolded, “Didn’t you hear what Beatrice said? Get her!”
“Wait!” Just as things were getting out of control, an anxious voice came from the door.
Everyone looked towards the door and saw a chubby middle–aged man with glasses. Probably because he rushed over in a hurry, his forehead was covered with a thin layer of sweat.
It wasn’t the first time Myra came here, and she recognized that was Dean, Rainbow Trade’s manager. She snorted and was about to mock.
Yet Dean didn’t even spare her a glance. He ran to Shannon, bowed deeply, and said loudly, “Greetings, Mrs. Rowe. I’ll have someone kick those troublemakers out right now. They’ll be on our blacklist and will never be allowed to step in here again.”
Beatrice’s expression changed at once as she shouted, “Why are you treating her with such respect?”
Hearing this, Dean said to her, “Mrs. Rowe owns this place.”
Myra’s face twisted. She looked at Shannon and then Dean in astonishment. Suddenly, she laughed out of anger. “Shannon, you lied to me?”
She paid more than double the price for those stuff at the store owned by Shannon. At the thought of that, she felt so annoyed that she almost wanted to puke.
Shannon looked at her indifferently, smiling, “When did I lie to you? Even if I owned this store, I’d still have to pay for what I take.
“You, Mrs. Gross, were so eager to fight me for it and willingly offered double the price. I didn’t twist your arm.”
Myra’s vision went black. If she hadn’t been holding the counter, she would have fallen to the floor already.
Being mocked, Beatrice lost it. The pain in her belly caused by Shannon’s kick seemed to intensify, and she snapped, “Shannon, good for you. You’ve got some balls to trick us.” Turning to the bodyguards, she ordered, “Smash everything here.”
Turning back to Shannon, she provoked, her eyes filled with madness, “You love money, don’t you? Fine. Whatever gets broken, I’ll pay for every last piece!”
Dean instantly widened his eyes and shouted, “Security! Where’s the security?”
The bodyguards were about to smash the store. Seeing that, the security guards, who had been waiting, rushed forward.
Though Beatrice’s bodyguards were good at fighting, the security guards here were veterans hired by Zachary. Therefore, those bodyguards were defeated easily and soon subdued.
Dean was sullen. The Gross family’s status no longer mattered to him; holding his phone, he said angrily, “This is outrageous! No one can make a scene here, including you, the Grosses. You can explain yourselves to the cops when they get here.”
Complacent, Beatrice said, “The cops? They can do nothing to us. My dad is Humphrey Gross.”
Shannon glanced at her and said coldly, “You’re so stupid, Beatrice. The law doesn’t care who your dad is. You break it, and even if your dad were the president, it wouldn’t save you.”
Given the big scene Beatrice had made, Dean didn’t dare to have her in the store at all; he asked the security guards to take her and Myra out more or less forcibly.

Chapter 401
Looking at those other customers present, Beatrice and Myra were furious and flustered at the thought that what happened here today might be all over the world tomorrow.
Glaring at Shannon, Beatrice said, “Shannon, you set me up. Wait and see. I’m not going to let this slide.”
Shannon didn’t take her threat seriously at all. She snorted, “Sure. Come at me however you want. But you better figure out a theory to tell the police why you were going to smash the store.”
Soon, the police arrived. They quickly pulled out the security footage from the store and took Beatrice, Myra, and their bodyguards away.
Dean respectfully saw Shannon off. Looking at the sweat on his face, she nodded. “No need to feel stressed. The store’s run pretty well, honestly. Especially your two employees–they handled the situation quite professionally. Each of them will be rewarded 500 dollars.”
Meeting his expectant eyes, she added, “You did well, too. I’m glad to have you here. You’ll receive double your bonus at the end of the year.”
Dean’s eyes immediately lit up as he shouted, “Thank you, Mrs. Rowe!”
Shannon blinked, utterly unamused. “Could you maybe not yell next time? I’m still young, and my hearing works just fine.”
Carrying the beautifully wrapped box, Shannon slid into her car, ready to head over to the Porters‘ place. Just then, her phone buzzed–it was Randall. She was stunned for a second before picking up the phone. “Hubby?”
Randall was surprised to hear her call him that so naturally. He cleared his throat and then said, “Where are you?”
Shannon clipped her phone to the car mount and put on the earbuds. “I’m out and about. Was just planning to head to the Porters‘ in a bit. Why? What’s up?”
On the phone, his voice was deep, magnetic, and a bit domineering. “Come to Regal Enterprises. We’ll go together.”
Chuckling, she deliberately snorted, “Really? You’re going with me? Why didn’t you say so?”
Randall fell silent for a second. The scene where they talked about this came back to him. He still remembered clearly what she was wearing that day. “You really don’t know the reason?” he asked.
Smiling, she said in a sweet voice, “How am I supposed to know if you don’t tell me?”
He sneered, “Cut the games. Speak properly.”
She smiled even more brightly, “What do you mean? Aren’t I speaking properly? Hubby, don’t you like this side of me?”
“Shannon,” Randall said, his voice dropping dangerously low, “are you trying to seduce me?”
“Yep, you caught me red–handed. So… what are you going to do about it?” she admitted and giggled as she switched her GPS to navigate to his office.
“Write a paper,” he said flatly.
Hearing his words, Shannon was taken aback. “What?” she asked.
He continued, “Aren’t you a graduate student? Write a paper then”
Shannon had no idea how to respond to that.
