Chapter 7
Randall pin Shannon’s hackpack in the trunk and started the cat heading to the Rowe family’s estate, which was located in the eastern suburbs and came with a great view of both mountaijs and lake.
There were five villas on the estate. One was for Daniel Rowe, Randall’s father, and Audrey Rowe, Randall’s mother, and the other four were for Randall and his brothers,
Other than that, there were a variety of recreational venues, including a basketball court, a soccer field, a baseball field, a golf course, an artificial ski slope, a rock ganden, and so on…
Randall enjoyed being alone, so he kept his help at the minimum amount, with only a cook, two staff doing chores, and a housekeeper named Yolanda Spencer.
Yolanda’s eyes lit up when she saw Randall with Shannon, who looked so gorgeous. “Welcome home, Mr. Rowe. Should I get the chefs the make something for you?”
While greeting Randall, Yolanda kept secretly checking Shannon out. The sight of Shannon’s pretty face, tall and slender figure, and flawless skin amazed Yolanda, who couldn’t help but think, ‘She’s stunning. Mr. Rowe’s taste is undoubtedly great.
Taking off his coat, Randall introduced Shannon, “Yolanda, this my wife, Shannon. From now on, make the food according to her preferences” After all, he seldom came back to eat.
Yolanda beamed, “Alright. Mrs. Rowe, what would you like to eat
Shannon replied. “I’m not picky. Anything would do.” A few skewers were barely enough, and she was still craving for food “Sure, Mrs. Rowe. Food will be ready in a second,” Yolanda said respectfully and then walked out of the living room. Shannon then looked at Randall. “Which room is mine?” After a long day, she yearned for a shower.
“You may stay in the room next to mine,” he answered.
“Alright.” She had no objection. After opening the door, she found that it was a guest room but came with excellent decoration and a spacious balcony, and she loved it.
Exhausted, she went back to her room after she got her stomach filled and soon fell asleep. By the time she woke up, it was already 10 am the next day.
After freshening up, she came downstairs and saw Randall sitting on the sofa, sipping coffee. As she looked at him, it suddenly dawned on her that it was their big day today.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” she asked.
Randall looked up. “You can get up at any time you want. Though our marriage isn’t based on love, I do want it to be your backing when you’re tired instead of something that constrains you.”
She smiled at him while thinking. Those rich husbands in TV dramas or novels are notoriously arrogant or crazy. But mine is great. He respects me and gets the true meaning of marriage.
An hour later, they walked out of City Hall with their marriage certificates. Getting an urgent call, Randall went to the office hurriedly.
Shannon was about to go back when she was stopped by a bunch of reporters with cameras, who had been lurking there, waiting for the chance to interview her.
“Ms. Lane, did
you
and Mr. Rowe just get married?” one of the reporters asked.

Another reporter pressed before Shannon could respond. “Ms. ne, everyone knows Mr. Rowe and your sister are childhood sweethearts, and they’re a couple. Why did he marry? Are you the other woman?”

“Now that you’re married, why didn’t Mr. Rowe take you on a honeymoon? He left just like that. Is it because he doesn’t love you at all?” Another reporter quickly followed.
A bolder reporter asked questions that were even more direct. “Are you pregnant? Did you use the baby to force him to marry you?”
They kept throwing different questions at Shannon, and she answered unhurriedly, “First of all, Randall has nothing to do with Miriam. All your impression of them is just the Lanes hype In fact, he has never met with her privately.
“Secondly, why do you care whether he loves me or not? The fact that I’m now his wife proves I matter more to him than those countless women who want to play up to him.
“One more thing. I’m not pregnant. Thanks for your attention. Randall and I will live a happy life together from now on. See

As she was about to leave, a reporter in a black T–shirt shouted, Ms. Lane, this is just your side of the story, and it’s quite a shock that you’d talk about your family like that. Are you still bitter that Mr. Lane sent you to the village back then?”
