Their sincere eyes made Shamon feel so warm; she suddenly realized the Rowe family was nothing like the Lane family. No wonder the Rowe family became and stayed at the top in Lorston, they were so united.
The Lanes were united as well in a sense; especially when it came to pushing her out. For them, she was never part of the family.
She was always a straightforward person, and she took the checks with a smile, not wasting time on being affectedly bashful. “Thanks, everyone. Now that we’re a family, why don’t we all drink to it? I’ve brought wine over.”
With that, she popped open the cap and filled the glasses, handing them to everyonoe present.
Taking a glass from her. Daniel grinned. “Alright. Now that Randall is married to a wife as outstanding as you, I have no regrets in my life”
Audrey took a few sips of before saying, “Well, I do. I haven’t had a granddaughter yet.”
She had four sons and six grandsons but no granddaughter. Therefore, she always got so envious while watching her friends enjoy time with their cute granddaughters.
Terrified. Megan finished her glass in one breath. Tm forty. I’m too old for having another baby.”
Almost burying her head in the glass, Celia didn’t dare to look u I exhausted myself during my second delivery. I can’t ever get pregnant again.”
Nicole’s hand trembled as she held the glass, for she was young and well and couldn’t find any reason not to have a third child. After quite a few seconds, she said, her voice small, “Luke is slipping.”
Daniel and Audrey’s third son, Luke Rowe, glanced at her helplessly and then pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly in distress. “Fine. I’m slipping
Audrey rolled her eyes and snorted, “Alright! You can all drop the act. I’m not forcing anyone.”
It suddenly dawned on Shannon why everyone was so overjoyed, welcoming her with streamers and money. Now that she was part of the family, she said sensibly, “Audrey, chill. I’m glad to step in.”
She figured that wives were bound to bring babies into the family, and since the Rowes were so harmonious, she didn’t mind having more than one baby. She was pretty confident her kids would be very happy to grow up in such a loving family.
Audrey was expecting to hear this from Shannon. She grabbed Shannon’s hand and was almost moved to tears. “You’re so sweet, sensible, and pretty. I’m sure my granddaughter will be just as pretty. Then… when are you going to deliver on your promise?”
Forcing an awkward smile, Shannon figured a year would be enough for Randall to fall for her, so she replied, Tma graduate student, so I guess, after I graduate. Don’t worry. It’ll just be a year.
Audrey beamed, “OK. Might as well. Both you and Randall can take the time to get ready, Shannon, after you give birth. don’t worry about taking care of your baby girl. I’ll take care of everything.”
Megan smiled, “If Shannon really has a baby girl, she’ll be making a huge contribution to the family. Celia, Nicole, and I will look after the baby. All she’s got to do is relax and enjoy her life!
Audrey nagged about having a granddaughter every day. If Shannon gave birth to a daughter, she’d be doing everyone a big favor.
After chatting with them for a while, Shannon went back to her room in Randall’s villa. Worried, she lay in bed, pondering, ‘Randall and I agreed yesterday that we wouldn’t intrude on each other’s private lives; today, I said I’d have a baby with him?

I don’t even know how to get him on board, and that’s not the point. What matters is 1 go back on my word. If I had known this was gonna happen. I wouldn’t have taken the pill yesterday. so, I’d probably he pregnant right now.
As she was tossing and turning, her bestie, Celeste Porter, called her. “Shannon, you rat. We agreed we’d stay single together forever, didn’t we? How could you get married without telling me? How long have you been with Randall? Don’t you find him terrifying?”
“The night before. I had too much to drink and slept with him, Shannon said truthfully.
“What? Seriously? It’s not the 60g anymore. Just because you slept with him doesn’t mean you have to marry him. Do you even know what kind of man he is?” Celeste fumed.
Shannon replied. “He gave me 30 billion dollars as a gift.”
Celeste was even more furious. “Are you that desperate to get money? Feel free to ask me for money at any

“We’re talking about your lifetime happiness, OK? I’ll be waiting for you at Opal Café. Get your ass right over here. I must talk some sense into you, Celeste said firmly.
“Fine,” Shamon agreed, changed her clothes, and drove out
