Chapter 2: The Price of Betrayal
Chapter 2: The Price of Betrayal
(Olivia’s POV)
There was silence on the other end of the line for a few seconds, and I expected him to angrily accuse me of greed, but instead, after a pause, he said, “I’ll agree to give you the entire company, Olivia, and let’s dissolve our mate bond.”
Three years ago, we co–founded Moonlight Designs, named after Graham who said I was his moonlight, lighting his way at night.
The company was founded with his money, and I served as the lead designer, and over the past three years because of my fusion of healing powers into the embroidery of my clothes, our company has become more and more famous in the paranormal world. Valuations have been skyrocketing.
And today, he’s willing to give up all his shares for Bella. Is she his true love?
“Are you sure?” I repeated.
“Yes. Everything. All the shares, all the rights to your designs. It’s yours.”
“Fine,” I said, “I accept your terms.”
“I’ll bring the agreement to you later,” he said and hastily hung up the phone again.
Putting the phone down, I surveyed my room. The room was filled with many of the things I had prepared for the mating ritual, and it stung my eyes so much that I wanted to burn them in a fire.
I grabbed a large box and threw everything related to Graham inside – photos from the company press conference, candles used in the mating ceremony, and so on.
Thank the Moon Goddess that we haven’t slept together yet because of my insistence. If Bella and I slept with the same man, I’d be sick to my stomach.
After cleaning up the house, I took a shower, put on elaborate makeup, and chose a red dress. I didn’t want
him to see how disheveled I was.
The doorbell rang, and I opened the door to find that it wasn’t just Graham who had come, but also his
mother, Katherine Storm, Luna of Storm Pack.
I realized in my mind that Katherine had come along for the ride because she was afraid her son would lose
more.
“Dear Olivia,” she said with her trademark fake smile.
I smiled coldly. “Luna Katherine. What a surprise.”
Her voice was sweet and cloying.” Dear Olivia, you forgot what we said before, call me mom. After all, we are family.”
I turned to her and smiled.” My mother is dead, Luna Katherine.”
I winked at her playfully, meaning: you don’t deserve it.
Katherine instantly lost all expression.

Graham stepped forward, his face flushing with anger. “That’s enough! Don’t direct your anger at my mother.
She’s only trying to help.”
“Help?” “I laughed,” “Is it helping you when you were secretly sleeping with Bella behind my back?”
“Olivia, when did you become so vicious?”
“Vicious? Graham, I thought I remembered you complimenting me on my kindness when you switched blood
with me.”
Katherine raised a hand, silencing her son. “Graham, knock it off. Olivia is understandably upset.” She turned to me with calculated compassion. “We should handle this peacefully, for the sake of pack harmony.”
I spread my hands, “Luna, you’ve been here for so long, and this is the only useful thing you’ve said.”
Graham cleared his throat and pulled out a folder from his briefcase. “As you said, the company is all yours,
and our mating ritual is cancelled.”
He laid the document on the coffee table between us. I picked it up, scanning the terms. Everything seemed in order–full ownership of Moonlight Designs transferred to me, effective immediately.
“I’ll need my lawyer to review this,” I said, not wanting to appear too eager.
“Of course,” Graham replied. “Take your time.”
I set the agreement aside, “With the company out of the way, you’re going to have to pay for my handmade gown you took, right?” I stared at him.
“How much is the dress?” Graham shifted uncomfortably.
“I’ll give you a discount, one million dollars.”
Katherine gasped. “One million? That’s outrageous!”
I smiled, “Luna, I’m sure Graham knows the value of my gown. Each embroidered design of this gown. incorporates my healing powers, and when worn it emits a healing light that makes everyone around it feel empowered by their gifts.”
I looked at Graham, “Do you think so? Graham.”
..“The two of them lapsed into silence.
“Besides, you guys don’t have to.” I gave a slight shrug of my shoulders, indifferent as usual, but then I -changed my mind, “But I’m sure Bella wants this dress so badly that no matter how expensive it is, Alpha
Graham will buy it.”
m looked at me, his eyes filled with surprise.
was right. I know Bella too well. Ever since she came to my home, she would snatch away anything I
en if it were a pile of s**t, let alone the dress I made for myself.
ghed, running a hand through his dark hair. “Fine. One million for the gowns.”
Mam!” Katherine protested. /
He silenced her with a look. “It’s done, Mother.”
Graham cleared his throat. “There’s one more thing. Bella has requested your ceremonial jewelry set.”

My smile froze. “My jewelry?”
“Her heart failure has left her with insufficient blood production and she barely has the strength to get out of
bed.” Graham explained, his tone almost pleading.” The therapist says she’s running out of time and she can’t pick one out for herself. Livvy, you’ve already picked one out anyway, so why don’t you let her have it all
together.”
“So what’s next, Graham? If Bella decides she wants my heart, would you dig it out for her?”
“Don’t be so dramatic.” He denied, “Bella isn’t that kind of person, you have the wrong idea about her
“Misunderstanding? “I sneered, watching him defend one of the women I hated most, “Graham, do you remember your promise to me? Do you remember the oath you swore to the moon goddess?”
Graham remembered the past, his face showed an embarrassed look, he bottomed out, “Livvy, of course I love you, I just sympathize with her, pity her…… She is so young, than you are still two years younger, will die. She is your sister, know that she is going to die, do you not sad?”
“S–i–s–t–e–r,” I repeated, “Do you know what it was like growing up with Bella? The things she did to me?”
Graham looked away, uncomfortable.
“I was twelve the year she first came to the house. I didn’t realize she would put wolfsbane in my food when
she was only ten,” I continued, my voice low.” I fainted on the training ground, and she took the opportunity to
tell everyone that I was weak, and that there was no way I’d ever have wolves in my future.”
I know that even if I said it, no one would believe me. Who would believe that a ten–year–old girl could poison
someone? Of course, I couldn’t let her bully me. My teacher sent me to a treatment center, and when I was
better, the first thing I did when I got home was to lock Bella in my bedroom and beat her severely. Then my
father whipped me with a silver whip and threw me into the basement.
I ripped the left shoulder of my shirt off, and there are still traces of the silver wound there.” He obviously
wanted to beat me to death. Unfortunately, I’m strong and I survived.”
Katherine withdrew her gaze unnaturally, obviously hearing about Oasis pack’s secret history made her a
little uncomfortable.
For so many years I struggled to survive in Oasispack, I tried to fight back and no one helped. I hated Gloria, I hated Bella and Thomas, and I hated my father more. How could I be sad now that Bella was dying and I was
so happy I wanted to dance in the moonlight?
My stepmother, I couldn’t help but gloat and say: “Think about it, Gloria must be the most heartbroken at this
moment.”
Katherine misinterpreted my sarcasm as genuine emotion. “A she–wolf’s love for her cubs is the greatest love,” she said, her eyes misty. “Gloria must be devastated.”
I almost laughed at the absurdity of it. Gloria would break down? How could she, the scheming b***h who
ruined my mother’s life and tormented me for so many years wasn’t going to snap.
Graham patted his mother on the back to comfort her. Then he turned his head to me, his tone gentle, “Livvy, I
just want to fulfill Bella’s last wish and mate with her. “He tried to pull me away, but I dodged him.
“And then,” he continued, “Livvy, after Bella’s death, I’ll make up to you an even grander mating ceremony.”
I stared at him, stunned by his audacity. “Wait till your sister dies, then I’ll make you my second mate? Is that

what you’re proposing?”
Katherine was clearly shocked by Graham’s statement as well.
“This is my way of making it up to you. “Graham insisted.
“After mating with my dying sister, do you expect me to continue accepting you, Alpha?”

I felt my pride being trampled, crushed beneath the weight of his presumption. The man who claimed to love me had always looked down on me from above.
My stomach lurched as Cora growled in my head, “Shameless. He doesn’t deserve to be our mate.”
I feel sick, I want to throw up.
I couldn’t stand it any longer, so I yanked the agreement and signed it. “If you want jewelry, you can add one million dollars. You call the money to my account, tomorrow, I personally send a full set of jewelry to the hospital, and visit my good sister.”
