Chapter 5: Witnessing My Own Downfall
(Olivia’s POV)
I pointed to his head and looked at him sarcastically, “Graham, you have a brain problem that needs to be locked at in a treatment center. Let me say it again, I don’t recycle trash. I loved you before and gave you everything. But from the moment you betrayed me and chose Bella, I gave up on you.
I turned to leave, but couldn’t hold back. “Even if every unmated Alpha in the territory died, I wouldn’t choose you. You’re disgusting.”
I snapped and turned away, leaving him standing alone.
Two hours later, I sat in my grandmother’s cozy living room. Eleanor Brooks listened patiently as I recounted the events of the past few days.
“So Graham wants you to wait for Bella to die?” Grandma Elle gripped her teacup tightly. “That boy has lost his mind.”
My aunt Diane sat beside me, her arm around my shoulders. “I never liked him. There was always something weak about Graham Storm.”
“I feel like such a fool,” I admitted. “I wasted six years of my life on him.”
Grandma Elle set down her teacup and fixed me with sharp eyes. “Child, sometimes the Moon Goddess intervenes to save us from our own poor judgment.”
“You think this broken bond is a tragedy,” she continued. “But I see it as fate steering you away from a disastrous union.”
“But I loved him,” I whispered.
“You loved the idea of him,” Diane corrected softly. “The real Graham just showed you who he truly is.”
Grandma Elle leaned forward, her eyes blazing. “You have Brooks blood in your veins, Olivia. We don’t beg for scraps of affection from weak men.”
Her words hit me like lightning. She was right..
“You’re free now,” Grandma Elle continued. “Free to find your true mate. Free to build your own empire.”
I felt something shift inside me. The crushing weight of betrayal transformed into determination.
“You’re right,” I said, sitting straighter. “I’m done grieving over Graham Storm.”
“That’s my girl,” Diane squeezed my shoulder. “Now, what’s your next move?”
“I’m going back to work,” I declared. “I have a company to run.”
The next morning, I walked into the Moonlight Design Company headquarters with my head held high. Blair White knocked on my door shortly after.
“Ms. Oasis? Graham is here. He says he needs to collect some personal items from his old office.”
I didn’t look up from my financial reports. “Fine. Make sure he doesn’t take anything that belongs to the

Twenty minutes later, I heard Graham’s footsteps pause at my door. I continued reading, not acknowledging
his presence.
After a long moment, his footsteps resumed and faded away.
Blair appeared in my doorway. “He’s gone, Ms. Oasis.”
“Good.” I made a note in the report. “Schedule a meeting with the design team for this afternoon.”
I was finally feeling like myself again when another knock interrupted me. Blair looked uncomfortable.
“Ms. Oasis? Bella Oasis is here to see you.”
My pen stopped moving. “Send her in.”
Bella appeared in my doorway, looking even more fragile than at the hospital. Her pale skin seemed
translucent.
“Hello, sister,” she said softly, stepping into my office uninvited.
I leaned back in my chair. “What do you want, Bella?”
She clasped her hands nervously. “I have a request.”
“I’m listening.”
Bella took a shaky breath. “I want you to be a witness at my mating ceremony with Graham.”
The words hit me like a physical blow. For a moment, I couldn’t speak.
“You want me to what?”
“I know it sounds strange,” Bella rushed on, “but you’re my sister. My only sister. It would mean everything to
me if you were there.”
Anger welled up in my chest.” Bella, do you have any more face? Do you have absolutely no self–respect?
You’re shameless.”
Bella’s eyes filled with tears. “Please, Olivia. I know this is difficult-”
“Difficult?” I stood abruptly: “You steal my mate, wear my ceremonial gown, and now you want me to watch
you mark each other?”
“I didn’t steal him,” Bella protested weakly. “Love just… happened.”
“And what about the pack? What about our extended family? They all know Graham was supposed to be my mate. How do you think they’ll react to seeing me at your ceremony?”
Bella wiped her eyes. “They’ll understand. They’ll see that you’re being gracious and supportive.”
“Get out,” I said coldly.
But Bella stepped closer to my desk, tears flowing freely.
“I know you hate me,” she whispered. “But I’m dying, Olivia. Really dying. All I want is to feel loved before I go.”
She reached across my desk and grabbed my hand. “I promise you, when I’m gone, Graham will come back to you. You can have him back.”

The suggestion was revolting, “You think I would want him back after he’s been with you?”
“He loves you,” Bella insisted. “This thing between us… it’s just pity. But his heart belongs to you,”
I stared at her in disgust. “You’re talking about a mate bond like it’s a borrowed dress.”
Bella’s grip tightened. “Please, Olivia, Just this one thing. Stand with me at the ceremony.”
“No,” I said firmly. “Find someone else to witness your pathetic ceremony.”
Bella suddenly lunged forward, grabbing my arm with surprising strength. “Please, Olivia! I’m begging you!”
Revulsion overrode my restraint. “Let go!”
I forcefully shook her off. Bella screamed and fell heavily to the ground like a broken puppet.
That’s when Graham burst through my office door.
His eyes immediately found Bella on the floor. “What did you do to her?” he demanded, rushing to her side.
Bella struggled to sit up, one hand pressed to her ribs. “Graham… she didn’t mean it…”
“Like hell she didn’t mean it,” Graham snarled, helping Bella to her feet. “Look at you. You’re hurt.”
Graham’s eyes blazed as he looked at me. “How could you hurt her? She’s sick, Olivia. She’s dying.”
I felt nothing. No guilt, no remorse, no sympathy. Just cold indifference.
“Get out of my office,” I said calmly.
Graham’s mouth fell open. “That’s it? You just assaulted your dying sister and you want us to leave?”
“She’s not my sister,” I replied. “And yes, I want you both to leave. Now.”
Graham’s face flushed with anger. “You’re heartless. Completely heartless. Where’s your pack compassion?
Your family loyalty?”
I laughed bitterly. “Family loyalty? You want to lecture me about family loyalty?”
Graham opened his mouth to argue, but Bella suddenly doubled over, coughing violently. When she pulled her hand away from her mouth, there was blood on her palm.
“Bella!” Graham’s voice filled with panic. “We need to get you back to the treatment center”
