Chapter 101
Noah could hardly keep his feet.
He covered his chest with a hand and asked, “Alice, what did you say?”
“We’re not a family anymore. I’m sick of you always acting like you’re doing what’s best for me and dominating my
life.”
Alice was furious.
It had never occurred to her to break with the Welch family before. All she wanted was to get away from them all.
“I should have said this earlier, so you’d stop viewing yourselves as my older brothers, interfering in my life, and pretending it’s all for my good. It’s sickening!”
Alice looked at Noah with cold eyes.
She had not intended to say these harsh words at the time of her departure from the Welch family.
Yet they had pushed her too far.
Noah found it hard to believe. He said in a trembling voice, “Alice, I never thought you hated me, hated the whole family, so much!”
“Yes, now you get it.”
Noah looked up at her.“I know you are angry, and I won’t take those words seriously. If that school doctor had any guts, he would’ve taken responsibility and gone to the hospital to apologize!”
“You’ve gone too far!”
“Will you come to the hospital with me now?”
Alice glared at Noah for a while and then turned around to hail a taxi.
She tried to call Jack, but he did not answer.
She recalled an incident about Garrett in her previous life, where he had a conflict with someone else and the Yates family forced that person to apologize.
Garrett then humiliated and beat that person.
Rage boiled inside Alice.
She texted Jack, “Where are you now?”
“At the hospital.”
Upon seeing his reply, Alice called and said, “Jack, don’t go in. Just wait for me outside. I’ll be there soon.”
“Are you coming too?”
Jack, who had just got out of the car, frowned and asked, “Is the banquet over so soon?”
“Don’t change the subject. Wait till I get there.”
Then, Alice finished the call.
Jack looked at his phone and then at the hospital.
Andrew parked the car and walked over.“Alice called you?”
“Yes, she wants me to wait outside.”
“Alice seems very
concerned about you.”

Noah had contacted Jack earlier in the morning, but the threats from the Welch family meant nothing to them.
Their presence at the hospital was solely to deal with Garrett.
It would mostly be done by Andrew.
Jack stood at the entrance of the hospital. You go in. I’ll wait for her.”
“Alright, I’ll make it quick.”
Andrew strode into the hospital and headed straight for Garrett’s high–end private room.
Garrett was lying in bed, still bandaged, enjoying Chloe’s services.

Chloe whispered softly, “Garry, Alice and the others will come to apologize later. For Luke’s sake, please don’t make things difficult for them, okay? Anyway, Alice is from the Welch family.”
“I know. As long as Alice shows genuine remorse, I’ll let it go. But that poor boyfriend of hers? He will pay!”
As Garrett raised his voice, a sharp pain in his ribs struck him and made him draw a deep breath.
There was a smug glint in Chloe’s eyes. “Thank you, Garry. Alice was deceived by that school doctor. That’s why she left home to live with him.”
“How could I be attracted to such an easy woman as Alice? You’re much better than her, Chloe.”
Despite his promiscuous lifestyle, Garrett loved innocent girls.
“What nonsense are you saying?”
As soon as Andrew walked into the ward, he heard Garrett speak ill of Alice.
It was fortunate that Jack wasn’t here, or Garrett would’ve been toast.
Jack was now fiercely protective of Alice.
Garrett started when he looked up and saw Andrew. He nearly dropped the apple in his hand. “You… You….”

Garrett doubted that Andrew came here because his family had known about his actions at the bar.
When Andrew appeared, Chloe looked past him and found no one behind him.“It’s you! Where’s the school doctor?”
Andrew replied in a calm voice, “I’ll handle this. He doesn’t need to be here.”
Andrew was able to handle Garrett himself. There was no need for Jack to come here at all.
Garrett wasn’t worthy of Jack to handle.
There was irony in Chloe’s voice.“You? You’re not qualified. Isn’t that school doctor arrogant? Where is this coward hiding now?”
“Shut up!”
Garrett snapped at Chloe, “How dare you speak to him like that?”
Garrett himself would not have dared to talk to Andrew in that way.
Chloe felt a little aggrieved at being yelled at.“Garry, why are you so fierce? I didn’t say anything wrong.”
Andrew stared at Garrett with a half smile and said, “Let her out. We can talk about this alone.”
“That’s right, Chloe. Go out and close the door.”
“Garry, why do I have to leave? I’m involved in this too.”
Chloe felt disrespected. Men were always like that. They didn’t cherish women once they’d won women over.

Garrett was a bit impatient. “Just out! Can’t you understand my words?
He didn’t want Chloe to witness how he was scolded by Andrew. He had dignity, too.
Chloe stamped her foot and stormed out of the ward.
Only Andrew and Garrett remained.
Andrew walked closer to Garrett and pulled up a chair. “It seems that you know well about having fun.”

“I felt as if I heard your voice at the bar, but I thought I misheard. Why didn’t you just take off your mask back then?”
“It has nothing to do with you. You got injured out of your own fault. Don’t put others in trouble. Understand?”
Garrett was puzzled. “Is that doctor your friend?”
Otherwise, there was no reason for Andrew to come to the hospital in person.
“Yes. Now you know what to do, right?”
“But I’ve broken a rib! You don’t even care! Who’s exactly that doctor? Why do you mediate this matter for him?”
Andrew felt a little exasperated and said, “You’d better not know. As long as you don’t continue to make trouble, I can talk to your mom about your exam results this time.”
Garrett’s eyes lit up.“Deal!”
His exam results were his biggest concern.
Unlike him, Andrew excelled at studying.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Alice jumped out of the car.
She was so focused on getting to the hospital that she didn’t pay attention to the ground and tripped.
“Careful, watch your step.”
Jack seized Alice’s arm, a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
Alice looked up at him and finally felt relaxed.“Didn’t you go in?”
“No, I’ve been waiting for you.”
Jack felt that there was no need for him to go in, as Andrew could settle the matter himself.
What surprised Jack was that Alice came over so hurriedly. He could even smell the food on her.
After hearing his words, Alice instantly took a breath of relief and said, “It’s good that you didn’t go in.”
“What makes you so anxious? What are you trying to say?”
“Well, you don’t need to take Noah’s words seriously. I’ve hired a lawyer. If the Yates family wants to cause trouble, I can handle them.”
Alice looked very serious.
Jack stared at her and could see the determination on her face.
He thought of her anxious tone and concern for him on the phone just now.
Surprisingly, his normally stoic heart was touched.
Jack patted her gently on the forehead.“It’s not that serious. I’ll handle it.”
“Are you serious? I know you have rich friends like Andrew, but they are nothing compared to the Yates family in Washington. You’re not able to handle it if the Yates family insists on causing trouble.”

“Why do you think so?”
“You’re just a school nurse. How can you possibly fight against such a powerful family?”
Alice pursed her lips and continued, “Besides, I’m the one who should bear the blame. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t hurt Garrett, that stupid rich guy.”
Hearing her scold Garrett, Jack couldn’t help having a subtle feeling.
He chuckled softly.“Look at your thin body. Are you sure you want to take responsibility?”
“I can’t let you in trouble without doing anything. What’s wrong with that?”
