Alice looked at the bag, then at herself. How was she supposed to change without anything to cover herself?
Jack turned around.“Go ahead. I won’t look.”
She blushed and took the bag over, which had fresh clothes and underwear in it.
She quickly changed her clothes and coughed. “I’m done.”
Jack turned back, pushing the cart closer.“Eat something.”
Alice glanced at the breakfast and felt hungry.
She sat at the bedside, glancing at him.“Want some?”
His phone rang.
“I’m going to take this.”
Jack went to the balcony. His voice turned cold.“Speak.”
“What happened between you and Alice last night?”
Jack sounded uncomfortable.“Mind your own business.”
“Dude, did you sleep with her? What now?”
“No, I wouldn’t touch her.”
“Good. You still have some sense. She’s not right for
you. Clear

stay away
from her.”
Jack looked at Alice eating, and his gaze turned soft.

Jack changed the subject.“How’s the investigation going?”

Jack thought of Julia’s arrival at the hotel.
