Alice was surprised to see the police.
Had Max called them?
Seeing that, Chloe smirked.“Officer, Alice acted impulsively, breaking the law by locking everyone’s phones. She should apologize and accept the consequences.”
“Alice hacked the school forum and locked our phones. She’s a gold digger who doesn’t want anyone to talk about it!”
Max was in a good mood. She said, “Alice, I don’t need to deal with you this time. Someone will. Wait for it. You’ll be expelled.”
Max was confident that if she told the principal, a bumpkin like Alice would be expelled.
Alice calmly looked at the officers, thinking she might need a lawyer,

The officers, however, turned to Max.“Ms. Garcia, we’re here for you.”
“Me? What for? You should be arresting Alice!”
Max was mad, wondering what these people were doing.
“Ms. Garcia, we need you to come with us.”
“I haven’t broken any laws! Why should I go with you?”
“Ms. Garcia, we’re investigating your involvement in the bullying of a classmate in high school, which resulted in their suicide. We have new evidence. We need you to come with us for further investigation.”

Max backed up in fear.“But that case is closed.”
Her family had taken care of it.
“Ms. Garcia, this is an arrest warrant. You must come with us.”
“Don’t touch me! Do you know who I am? My brother–in–law is the top shot of Washington! You’ll all regret this!*

The whole class was stunned. None of them expected the drama to happen.
Alice hadn’t expected Max’s arrest, but the charges seemed to fit Max’s character.
After Max was taken away, Chloe was in a good. Max deserved that.
Chloe, elated, put on a virtuous act.“Alice, now that Ms. Garcia is gone, you should unlock our phones.”
“Looks like you were involved too,” Alice said.
Alice looked at Chloe sarcastically.
Chloe looked guilty.“I was just explaining your actions, but what you did was still wrong! Professor, don’t you agree?”
The professor was torn.
This involved the business school. And it was clear that the business school was against Alice.
Who could have thought that Alice would be so tough?

Alice was surprised by his support. She didn’t expect that he would help her.
The class erupted in discussion once the professor left.
“What should we do now? So no one can do anything about those locked phones?
Alice stood on the podium and looked at everyone.“Unlocking your phones is simple. I’ve already explained the
method.”
Then Alice walked back to her seat. She gathered her things to leave.
Chloe approached.“Alice, we are friends. Please unlock my phone.”
“Friends?”
Alice scanned Chloe with sarcasm.
Alice left the classroom without engaging with Chloe.
They enjoyed spreading rumors. Alice should make them pay.
The rumors reeled off by people were the most lethal.
Back in the dorm, exhausted, Alice wanted a shower and some rest.
The door burst open.
Lisa stormed in.“Alice, you’re outrageous! Locking everyone’s phones! How do you expect them to cope with that?”
Alice saw there were a lot of people outside. She could guess that all of their phones were locked.
Alice was impatient.“Are you deaf? I told you how to unlock them – a a public apology.”
Lisa scoffed.“They weren’t wrong! Why should they apologize?”
“Then leave!”
Alice refused to waste time with these hypocrites.
“No. Unlock our phones. You’re going too far!”
“You can’t do this. It’s freedom of speech.”
“Exactly. Face the consequences of your behaviors.”
Alice laughed.“As women, did you ever consider that you might face the same rumors one day when you spread them?

Alice’s words were strong. Silence fell.
Chloe spoke, “Think it about. Girls should support girls, not slut–shame each other.”
Some girls by the door left after hearing that.
The rest of them dispersed as well.

Alice was exhausted after last night.
Alice fell asleep the second she lay down. She was awakened by the noise. She got up annoyed.
Lana stood by her bed and said, “The advisor is here. It’s about the forum post.”
“Alice, you’re finished. The advisor will make you unlock the phones. You’d better do as he says.”
Lisa sneered, hoping that Alice would get punished.
Alice got dressed and walked out of the dorm. She received a call from her brother, Ethan.
“Alice, you’ve made an enemy of the Garcia family. If you don’t want to live, don’t drag the Welch family down with you.”
“Chloe ratted me out, right?”
“Chloe is doing this for your own good. She pleaded with me to help you with the Garcia family. She’s not as cold–hearted as you!”
Ethan said coldly, “Just apologize, and I’ll help you.”
