“You should know the Welches are nothing compared to the Garcias. Max’s sister is engaged to a man from a powerful family in the capital! Do you think the Welches can afford to offend the Garcias?”
So they had powerful backing.
Alice scoffed.“I don’t buy it. Bring it on!”
She hung up.
The Welch family’s fate was none of her concern.
She looked at the invitation and left the dorm.
Alice came to the base. The esports club’s event was extravagant–a red carpet and a signing table.
“Alice, you’re injured?”
Daniel, the Blitzkrieg Team’s manager, appeared.
She smiled.“A minor accident.”
“I heard you failed Harvard Team’s tryouts. That’s surprising.”
“I missed the tryouts due to the accident. I didn’t fail,”
Daniel’s eyes lit up.“You should consider joining the Blitzkrieg Team. I won’t stop you from going to the national
team.”
“I’ll think about it.”
Alice hesitated.
“I need to greet a friend. I’ll talk to you later.”
Daniel left with wine in his hand.
Alice entered the hall, hearing Lisa’s voice.“Alice, you’re shameless to come here!”
Alice stopped.“You’re here; why can’t I be?”
“I can be here, but not you. This event is for influencers. Only club members are allowed.”
David arrived too.“Alice, you should’ve thought about this before. Apologize if you know your mistake!”
“Oh, you still haven’t apologized for losing that last time!”
David looked guilty. Lisa said, “Alice, get out! How did you even get in?”
Alice chuckled.“I walked in, not sneaked in.”
Lisa scoffed in a higher voice.“You don’t have an invitation. How did you get in?”
“Who says I don’t?”
Lisa laughed at once.
“She claims she has an invitation! I’ve never seen someone so shameless.”
David said condescendingly, “Alice, you’re poor. You’ve probably never seen an invitation.”
“Security! Get this shameless woman out!”
Lisa felt triumphant, looking at Alice.

Alice looked at security, opening a link on her phone. “My invitation.”
Security checked it.“Sorry to disturb you. Please come in.”
Lisa was shocked.“Impossible! She couldn’t have an invitation!”
David frowned.“She’s not a club member; she shouldn’t be here! She couldn’t have an invitation.”
“Only influential streamers are here with invitations. Who is Alice?”
David took a tumble.“She faked the invitation link! She’s a computer expert. Faking a link is easy for her!”
Security hesitated. David was the captain, who could be credible.
Alice looked at them. “Your performance is pathetic. I don’t even bother to call your bluff.”
Lisa sneered, “You must be scared. How could you possibly have an invitation? You’re not an influencer!”
Alice smiled.“Why can’t I be?”
David scoffed.“If you’re an influencer, I’ll eat shit!”
Alice laughed.“You said that.”
Daniel arrived.“Ms. Welch, everyone’s waiting for you. Why are you still at the door?”
Alice said calmly, “Someone questioned my invitation.”
Daniel glared at David.“Are you crazy? Who would fake an invitation? We all know each other!”
“Mr. Briggs, I was just ensuring the event’s integrity. Alice isn’t a club member, let alone an influencer! She shouldn’t
be here!”
David, hoping to impress Daniel, was obsequious. He wanted to join the Blitzkrieg Team, but he hadn’t got the chance.
Daniel yelled, “Who says she isn’t an influencer?!”
David was stunned.“Impossible!”
Why would Daniel say so? Could Alice be a newly famous influencer? No way!
Wasn’t she poor?
Daniel continued yelling at David.“Idiot! Stop embarrassing yourself here.”
Scolded though, David didn’t dare to retort, in fear of angering Daniel.
Lisa defended David.“Who is Alice, anyway?”
“Shut up! Mr. Briggs has proven her identity.”
David yelled at Lisa.
Daniel was not someone to offend.
Never been treated like this, Lisa cried with red eyes.“I was defending you!”
Daniel gestured to Alice.“Let’s go. Some people are blind.”
Alice looked at David.“Didn’t you say you’d eat shit if my invitation was real? Your turn.”
David’s face was stiffened.
He hadn’t expected her to ask him to do it.

Lisa said, ‘Alice, don’t be so mean. He was just joking.”
“Mean? You two were aggressive and tried to get me kicked out! You’re so hypocritical! You can treat others this way, but not vice versa!”
Faced with Alice’s sharp words, David was speechless.

Lisa insisted, “Making him eat shit is too much!”
