Alice thought about the Garcia family’s threat to harm her family. They went straight to the Welch family.
A wave of schadenfreude washed over Alice.
Alice replied indifferently, “I’ve cut ties with the Welch family. This is my own problem.”
“Can you handle this on your own? The Garcia family have contacted me, telling me to control my unruly sister, otherwise, they’ll get rough.”
Alice’s voice turned icy.“They almost killed me in the car accident they planned. They dare to act so ‘polite‘ now?”
Chloe’s eyes flickered.
Everyone seemed to believe that the Garcia family was behind Alice’s car accident. Chloe was fine with that.
Chloe then feigned concern.“Alice, Ethan is just looking out for you. Even though you’ve cut ties with the Welch family, you’re still a member of us. That can’t be changed.”
Luke chimed in, “Alice, Ethan had a tough time drinking with the Garcia family at lunch.”
Seeing Alice’s defiant expression, Ethan was furious.“Alice, remember, the Welch family cleaned up this mess for you.”

“I didn’t ask for your help. You could have told the Garcia family I’m no longer a Welch and you wouldn’t care if I lived
or died. Wouldn’t that have been easier?”
Alice’s gaze was steady, and she looked much stronger.
Ethan exploded with rage.“Alice, you ungrateful wretch! I cleaned up your mess, and this is all I get?”
Chloe quickly pulled Ethan.“Ethan, calm down. Alice is just stubborn. She’ll understand your plight.”
“Ethan, let’s talk this through.”
Seeing Ethan’s fists clench, Luke stepped between them.
“What are you doing? I told you not to let her go to Washington for college. She would stir up trouble that the Welch family couldn’t clean up. But she had to go!”
Ethan pointed at Alice.“I went to great lengths to appease the Garcia family, and I don’t even get a thank you!”
Alice lifted her chin, a smirk playing on her lips.
Here it was again. It was all about condescending lectures and accusations.

Ethan was stunned.
Chloe instinctively spoke, “Alice, but if you do this, you’ll completely offend the Garcia family.”

Luke sensed something was off about Chloe’s words.

Ethan said, “It’s not your fault, Chloe. Alice has an awful temper. I’m waiting for the day she can’t handle things on her own. Let’s wait and see!”
