Chapter 176
Alice looked at Max. It seemed the Garcia family cared about their reputation.
Max hesitated, unable to speak.
Alice grew impatient.“Are you going to say something?”
“Alice, at the base, I shouldn’t have humiliated you in front of everyone. I was wrong.”
Max closed her eyes and blurted it out.
Silence fell.
Everyone’s eyes widened.
They couldn’t believe Max publicly apologized to Alice.
Everyone knew Max had declared war on Alice on the first day on campus. She vowed to isolate Alice.
Yet, Max apologized. Alice was so impressive.
Garrett broke the silence.“Max, does she have something on you?”
“Mind your own business!”
Max stormed off. No one dared to provoke her.
But the atmosphere became livelier. The application forms were snatched up.
Alice smiled and looked at Garrett.“I said things have changed.”
“Alice, you’re quite clever. I admit that I’ve underestimated you. But I warn you, don’t use these tactics on Chloe, or I won’t let you off!”
Alice grabbed a bottle of coke.“Leave or not?”
Seeing the coke, Garrett quickly retreated.“Alice, remember what I said! Don’t bully Chloe again!”
Alice watched Garrett flee and snorted.
Coward!
Chloe had probably chosen Garrett for his family’s status.
In her past life, Chloe had stolen her achievements and glory to gain the Yates family’s approval and engagement with
Garrett.
But this time, Chloe had nothing.
Alice wanted to see what tricks Chloe could use to marry into the Yates family.
After Max left, applications poured in. The two seniors and Lana were overwhelmed.
Alice acted as a team mascot.
Even so, she was tired.
Alice ate extra at lunch.
Without classes in the afternoon, Alice went to the gym to make up for yesterday’s lack of sparring.
However, she was assigned to a new trainer.
“Alice, I hired a new sparring trainer for you.”
Alice felt unpleasant about the change.

“Don’t worry. The new trainer is professional and better than me. I would charge extra on others, but not on you.”
No extra charge? She must give it a try.
Without further thought, Alice changed and started training.
The gym owner witnessed all this and made a call. “Everything’s arranged as you requested. She won’t get hurt. I promise.”
He wouldn’t be the gym owner anymore.
Someone had bought the gym to get a new trainer for this girl.
The rich people’s world was different.
Alice’s mood was excellent after the training.
The new trainer was exceptional. He corrected her mistakes that Alice never paid attention to.
She looked outside. The sun was setting.
Holding her water bottle, she watched the sunset.
“Is this trainer professional?”
“Very professional. He is much better than the gym owner.”
Alice looked up and saw Jack leaning against a pillar. How did he get here?
He was almost invisible.
If he hadn’t spoken, no one would have noticed him.
Alice was surprised.“What are you doing here?”
“Was I right last night?”
Jack tilted his head with his eyes teasing.
Alice understood what he meant.
Jack approached, casually dressed in sports clothes.
Alice realized something.“Did you arrange the new trainer?”
“That’s not important.”
“How is that not important?”
Jack climbed into the boxing ring and put on gloves.“Shall we have a few rounds?”
Alice looked at him. She suddenly wanted to punch his handsome face.
Alice stepped into the ring.“Sure. Have you boxed before?”
“A few times.”
“Perfect. Then you can’t say I’m bullying you. The trainer said I’m talented.”
Alice put on her gloves, eager to knock Jack down.
Jack stepped closer.“Come on.”
Alice wasn’t afraid of his challenge.
Alice attacked, but Jack dodged.
She got serious but couldn’t land a hit. He seemed to anticipate her moves.

That was impossible!
Jack’s gaze was intense. “Focus. I’m starting.”
Starting?
Before Alice could react, Jack knocked her down.
Alice fought back with all her strength. She was stronger.
But Jack kept knocking her down. She was exhausted, but he seemed effortless.
When Jack pinned her to the mat, Alice stopped struggling.
“I’m so tired. You said you’ve only boxed a few times?”
He was incredibly skilled.
Jack held her wrist and pursed his lips into a smug smirk.“Yes.”
“You’re lying.”

“I’m better than you. It’s normal for a beginner to lose to me!”
Feeling defeated, Alice looked behind Jack.“Look at that!”
When Jack tilted his head, Alice attacked.
But Jack caught her wrist, shifted his body, and pinned her beneath him.
Alice’s breath hitched.
They were so close that they could feel each other sweating.
Their breaths mingled.

Alice quickly moved her hand away. Jack lay down beside her, his gaze lingering.
They lay side–by–side in silence.
Alice’s heart pounded. Was it from exertion or something else?
She moved, her hand brushing his arm.
She pulled back but felt the warmth from his arm.
Jack looked at the ceiling. Sweat trickled down his temple.
He heard her rapid breathing.
He had heard it before on the night she was drugged.
Jack’s hand tightened. Damn it.
After some rest, their breathing slowed down.
Alice tilted her head and saw the reddening sunset.
She said, “Jack, look at the sunset.”
He sat up.“Where?”
“Over there…”
Alice tilted her head, meeting Jack’s gaze.
They were so close that they almost kissed each other.
Alice’s mind went blank. She only heard her powerful heartbeat like a drum.

Jack’s dark eyes only reflected her. Nothing else existed there.
