Luke was surprised by the blood.
Noah walked to them and helped Chloe up.“Luke, what did you do?”
Luke was stunned.“I didn’t mean to.”
Seeing Noah supporting her, Chloe looked surprised with joy.“Noah, it’s not Luke’s fault. I stumbled. He didn’t mean to push me.”
Noah was disgusted by Chloe’s subtle implication. He let go of Chloe’s arm.
Noah looked at Luke.“Luke, what did you and Chloe do yesterday? I received a lawyer’s letter. The Maple Company represented by Alice is going to sue both of you.”

“I’m sorry, Noah. I messed up.”
Luke thought he should have stopped Chloe.
Noah became anxious.“What happened? Why didn’t you inform me of yesterday’s meeting?”
Chloe said, “Ethan said you needed rest and asked us not to bother you.”
Ethan feared seeing Alice would make Noah act irrationally. That was why Noah was kept in the dark.
Alice escaped her bad luck.
