Time flew. After the sunset, it was dark outside.
Alice finished testing the program and stretched her neck. Everyone had left.
She looked up and saw her boss’s office was still lit.

She knocked. A cold voice sounded.“Come in.”

Alice opened the door, seeing Jack at his computer in a white long–sleeved shirt. The sleeves were rolled up to reveal his fit forearms.
She asked in surprise, “What are you doing here?”
“Why can’t I be here? Are you disappointed to see me?”
He leaned back with his gaze on her.
Alice leaned against the door.“I thought it was Andrew. You’re a diligent consultant.”
“Come here. Did you find any problems?”
Alice walked over and stood at the desk.“A few minor issues. We’ll need a meeting to address them.”
Jack tapped his desk.“Check this. Did you find the same problem?”
He’d also been testing.
Alice went to his side.
Jack stood up and offered her his seat. He poured her a glass of water and put it next to her hand.
Alice clicked the mouse and looked at the problem he found.“You found it too. I wasn’t sure just now.”
Alice had to admit that Jack was more skilled.
He bent to look at the computer.“Actually, it’s easy.”
Jack put one hand on the table and patiently explained the issue.
Alice listened attentively but then noticed they were so close.
He was bent over, almost holding her.

Jack stopped and looked at the glass.“Are you thirsty?”
Alice nodded.
He smiled.“I used this glass.”

Alice’s face flushed. She hurriedly put down the glass.“I’ll get you another one.”

She omitted Garrett’s comment about her affairs.

He thought for a while before saying, “He is Garrett’s cousin.”
Alice was shocked.“Andrew is the heir to the Yates family in Washington?”
She didn’t know Andrew was so influential!
She seriously looked at the man who was driving.“Your good buddy is so rich.”
Jack was slightly uneasy.“Maybe.”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“There is no need.”

The car stopped at the school not long after.
