Alice looked at Ethan, surprised that her older brother actually had a lead.

Seeing Luke’s humble demeanor in front of her didn’t give her any sense of relief.
All she wanted was to find out who had escaped from the car accident years ago.
She wanted that person to face justice too.
Ethan pressed on, “Alice, have you made your decision?”
“I’ve said before that I can’t make a decision; it’s up to the Maple Company to pursue the charge of stealing trade
secrets.”
“But aren’t you close with Andrew? Just charm him a little and he’ll agree,” he insisted.
Caleb’s tone was casual.“A rich man like Andrew wouldn’t care about something trivial like this. As long as the project is still under the Maple Company’s control, everything else can be worked out.”
He knew how these things worked better than anyone.
“I’m just friends with Andrew.”
“That makes it even easier! Being connected with the Yates family could benefit the Welch family as well. Alice, you’re actually stronger than your brothers now.
“With you and Ethan backing us up, we’ll definitely uncover the truth behind the accident.”
Alice glanced at Caleb and replied firmly, “I’ll investigate on my own. If you want a settlement, go talk to the Maple Company.”
She wouldn’t agree to anything without others‘ consent.
“Stop right there! Alice, how can you prioritize the Maple Company’s interests over finding out what really happened in that car accident? How can you be so selfish?”
Ethan’s face turned iron blue with anger.“Alice, your choice just now really disappointed me.”
Alice pursed her lips.“Mom and Dad will understand my choice.”

Alice coldly said, “Move.”
She knew Caleb must have more to say.
“But what you did to Luke was wrong. When you were young, he protected you the most because you were closer in age and he took care of you the most.”
Caleb’s tone was gentle.“By withdrawing the lawsuit this time, you can repay him for his kindness. You wanted to sever ties, right? You should settle things before cutting us off completely.”
“Settle things?” she thought.
She had settled things long ago.

Noah stepped in to stop him and looked at Alice.“You go back first. This matter can’t be decided in a moment.”

“She’s still young. Give her time to think. Alice, go back and let me know when you’re safe at school.”
Noah blocked Caleb.
Without looking back, Alice left.
Seeing how much weight Noah had lost, Caleb ultimately couldn’t bear to argue further in front of Noah.

After leaving the hospital, Alice felt empty–headed.
She walked alone on the street without thinking about anything.

Hearing someone, calling her name, Alice stopped and saw Jack.

Jack hurried out of the car and walked to her, and Alice held him. “Let me hold you for a little while, please.”

The next day, she was woken up by a phone call from Lana.
“You didn’t come back last night. Are you skipping morning classes?”
“Yeah, I don’t feel like coming. Can you help me with the attendance?”
Feeling downcast, Alice hung up the phone.
She then saw a message notification from the Mysterious Web on her phone.
Opening the app, she received a message from the administrator.“The firewall system you developed impressed them. They want to invite you for an interview directly. I’ll send you the company address.”
The address made her feel familiar.
Wasn’t this the address of Ethan’s company building?
She had thought about this before.
It turned out to come true.
Alice replied directly,” Sorry, I’ve suddenly decided not to cooperate and won’t provide them with the firewall system.”
She wouldn’t work with the Welch family.
