Ethan’s voice softened, his expression uneasy.“What? She’s injured?”

Noah was furious.“Ethan, you know Caleb’s temper. If he hit her, Alice couldn’t avoid injuries. Ethan, you haven’t shown any concern for Alice, our sister!” The live stream clearly showed Caleb striking Alice first.
Ethan quickly defended himself.“But Alice’s skilled in self–defense. If they fought, it could have gone either way.”
Chloe interjected, “Ethan, Alice only has superficial injuries, but Caleb was seriously hurt. His face is disfigured. It’ll be hard to fix. How about his career?”

A police officer entered.“Is Mr. Welch awake? We need to take his statement.”
Ethan frowned. “My brother is innocent. My sister staged the live stream to ruin him.”
“Sir, we will investigate the facts ourselves.”
“Didn’t you see his injuries? Alice only has minor scratches! Don’t you see who’s worse off?”
Ethan’s anger was barely contained.
“We understand Mr. Welch was injured falling into a construction pit while fleeing. It’s unrelated to Ms. Alice.”

The officer stopped her.“You can’t leave yet. You said you were injured and needed a medical examination. We need your statement.”
Chloe’s face paled.“I…I said everything. I know nothing.”

Noah asked the officer, “Did Alice mention any evidence?”
“Yes. She said she has a video recording on Chloe’s phone. We need to examine it.”

The officer said, looking at her, “Give us your phone.”
Noah took Chloe’s phone, unlocked it, and gave it to the officer.

“Chloe, stop pretending! Deleting the video doesn’t erase anything. Once Caleb wakes up, we can get the truth from him. You think you can hide it?”
