Ethan was concerned.“Why have you lost so much weight? You were supposed to have surgery for your stomach problems. Didn’t you go?”
Noah, in his wheelchair, pushed Ethan’s hand away.“Ethan, I would have been waiting for surgery in the hospital, but this happened, and I had to come.”
“I’m back from my business trip now. I’ll handle all these things. You focus on your surgery. If it’s serious, we can get Alex to come back for your surgery.”
“No, it’s not that serious. No need to bother Alex.”
“Didn’t she say you had cancer? Isn’t that serious?”
Ethan suspected that Alice was lying and exaggerating the severity of Noah’s condition.
Noah smiled bitterly and didn’t admit that.“It’s not true.”
Ethan turned on Alice, and furiously snapped, “Did you hear that? Noah doesn’t have cancer. You want us to suffer, don’t you?”
Alice glanced at Noah and said nothing; some people just couldn’t be reasoned with.

Alice just let it pass.
