She didn’t trust Ethan.

Chloe added, “Caleb is the one who’s seriously injured! Why is Alice lying during the livestream?”
Jack looked at Chloe, saying in a cold tone, “Knowing the arrival of the police, Caleb was fleeing when he got hurt. If he wasn’t guilty, why would he run?”
Chloe faltered.“Caleb is a public figure; this kind of incident would damage his reputation.”
Alice said coldly, “It was you who instigated Caleb, telling him about my plans to expose him. You think you can get away with this?”
Chloe lowered her head, denying, “I’ve never done anything like that.”
Caleb looked at Chloe meaningfully; Alice was right. He didn’t know Alice was digging up some dirt on him until Chloe showed him the recorded video.
