Alice sneered.“It’s your vanity. You spent millions on this! We won’t even make that much from the auction. You’re insane!”

“Not that much. About two million dollars. These things cost money,” Chloe stammered, her guilt
evident.
Ethan wanted to hit her but refrained, considering the guests.
Chloe was shocked. What was wrong with spending a little money?
Chloe thought it was because Ethan favored Alice.
Noah said, “Ethan, that’s why I wanted Chloe out. It has nothing to do with Alice. Don’t yell at her without asking.”
Even Noah was speaking up.
Ethan, realizing his mistake, continued to defend himself.“Alice’s temper is getting worse. Who’s to blame?”

Alice frowned.“Just get them. I’m with this guest. She’s unwell.”
“Alice, are you crazy? Mrs. Yates is the most important. If someone is sick, go to the hospital. Why bother?”
Amber said to Alice, “Go ahead.”
Amber thought this lady was bullying a part–timer.
Chloe rolled her eyes at Amber and said to Alice, “Alice, Ethan put you in charge. If you offend Mrs. Yates, how will you explain it?”
