“I know. But someone was sick. I asked Chloe to get the desserts.”
“Alice, you were in charge. No one listened to me.”
Chloe added, “Ethan, I’m trying to help, but Alice only cares about a nobody, neglecting the important guests.”
Ethan frowned.“Alice, you were wrong. Chloe is right. Don’t offend Mrs. Yates. Get the desserts for her.”
“Fine.”
Alice didn’t want to cause a bigger scene.
She left.
Chloe smirked. Alice was finished.
Ethan hesitated.“Who was in the rest area?”
“It doesn’t matter. Let’s go. Mrs. Yates is waiting.”
Chloe pulled Ethan away. That woman in the rest area was insignificant compared to Madyson.

“You can’t. You don’t understand women.”
Amber hung up, covering her face.
She’d always had a smooth life. Even her stepson was excellent.
But she’d made a mistake, leading to this.
Amber felt heartbroken thinking of Alice’s mistreatment and hospitalization.

come!”
Ethan rushed to appease her, ordering Alice, “Apologize to Mrs. Yates!”
