When Susanna received a call from Zachary, she immediately guessed his intentions. Her heart was filled with unstoppable anger, fury, and jealousy.

“Think what you will,” Zachary said, his expression composed. “There’s no point in further discussion, just state your terms.”
“What if I don’t agree to any of the conditions?” Susanna raised an eyebrow.
“You don’t have this option.” Zachary spoke in a calm tone, yet it carried an undeniable insistence.
Kieran was unwilling to deal with her, and Zachary could easily ruin her with a mere flick of his finger.
Susanna gripped her handbag straps tightly, looking at Zachary as she proposed a different deal. “Fine, I’ll testify for you, but only on one condition: marry me. Agree to that, and I’m in. What do you say?”
“That’s impossible,” Zachary replied flatly.
Seeing his indifference, Susanna gave a bitter smile. “You didn’t even hesitate.

She’d been lying in a hospital bed, holding him close. “Zack, will you marry me?” she had asked.
“Yes.” His response then had been resolute–just as it was now.
Only this time, his answer was entirely different.
What Susanna regretted most wasn’t her decision to get closer to Zachary after listening to Johanne’s. advice, but that her realization came too late.
When Johanne turned around and married Mallory, she should have seen it–Johanne was never reliable. He had never considered marrying her; all those sweet words were just a means to use her.
It was a shame that back then, she was so fixated, hopelessly in love with Johanne. She insisted that Johanne divorce Mallory, to give her some closure.
As one might expect, she was pushed to the brink by Johanne, leaving her no choice but to flee abroad.
Had she given up on Johanne back then, if she had focused solely on being with Zachary, everything that Lenora has now would have been hers!
Seeing Susanna remain silent, Zachary said, “Whatever resources you need, feel free to ask.”
Taking a deep breath, Susanna smoothed her hair back from her temples. “I think, there’s no need to specify anything. Simply restoring my resources to their previous state would suffice.”
Her previous state referred to the time when Gerald was still alive.
Zachary nodded. “All right.”
“I have another request.” Susanna spoke again.
“Go ahead.”
With a smile, Susanna said, “There’s a banquet in a few days, I hope you can accompany me. After the banquet, I’ll head to the police station to testify.”
Zachary paused for a moment. “All right.”
Susanna couldn’t help but scoff. “You really would do anything for her, wouldn’t you? Aren’t you afraid she might misunderstand if she sees?”
“You don’t need to worry about this.”
Lenora noticed something off about Susanna’s gaze toward her, as if she was scrutinizing and sizing her up. It had been like this since early morning, with her constantly bossing her around, even losing her temper over trivial matters.
“Did you eat dynamite today?”
During a break in filming. Lenora finally couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in inquiry.
“You’re really lucky,” Susanna said, staring at Lenora as she suddenly blurted out these words.

From a young age, her parents had divorced. Not long after she started understanding the world, her grandparents passed away one after the other. During her teenage years, her father had a car accident. As a young adult, she tragically lost the child she was carrying. Lenora didn’t think she had any luck in her life.
Perhaps in Susanna’s view, the chance to enter the Fuller family and marry Zachary was simply a stroke of good fortune.
But that was obtained at the cost of her father’s life.
If given the choice, she would have preferred her father to be alive and in good health.
Susanna replied, “Isn’t that the truth? So many people envy you, wishing to enter the Fuller family but unable to do so.
She truly wished she could be Lenora, firmly holding Zachary in her grasp!
Lenora wore a subtle expression, poised to say something, when the stage supervisor called her over to speak with the stunt coordinator.
Today, Susanna has another action scene, with Lenora stepping in as her stunt double.
After finishing her scene, Susanna took a temporary break inside the studio.
Suddenly, a cellphone ringtone echoed from within the shed.
Susanna looked around, realizing that the sound was coming from Lenora’s handbag.
She glanced at Lenora, who was deeply engrossed in filming, and on a whim, she reached for her handbag and rummaged through it to find her phone.
The incoming call displayed a name she didn’t recognize- someone called Jayden.

Susanna snapped back to reality. “I’m sorry, I’m Lenor’s friend. She’s busy at the momen quite sure what you’re saying, but I’ll be sure to pass along your message.”
Jayden didn’t harbor any doubts. “Thank you. You’ve been a great help.”

After hanging up the phone, Susanna immediately put her mobile back in her bag, then returned the bag to its original place.
She looked back at the scene once more, yet her mind was miles away, restless and unsettled.
In the following few scenes of the drama, Susanna was out of sorts, resulting in several retakes.
The director was somewhat displeased, his brows furrowed as he addressed Susanna. “Melody should appear confident in this scene… What have you turned her into? Guilty! I’m beginning to question whether you’ve done something to feel guilty about… Never mind, let’s shoot the fighting scene first. Go and get into the right mindset.”
While he was speaking, he instructed the stage supervisor to call Lenora, who was resting-
