Elaine stumbled back in fear, unable to even look at the bodyguards in front of her. “D–Don’t come near me!”
Eliza had initially felt that Matteo’s approach toward a woman was a bit too rough. But then she reminded herself that Matteo had already tried reasoning with her. And to be fair, what Elaine did was truly brainless.
Matteo’s bodyguards quickly forced Elaine into the car.
She tried to think of a way to save herself once inside, but suddenly realized–her phone was broken. There was no way to call for help.
Eliza stood beside the car, looking down at her. “Ms. Elaine, if you’d used your brain even a little, you would’ve figured it out. I’m just a woman–guns are useless in my hands. The one who would use firearms wouldn’t be me. Do you really think someone who disregards the law would care what methods they used?”
Eliza’s words made Elaine flush with shame and anger. “Eliza! You shameless slut! You already have Henry, and yet you’re still seducing Nolan! Now that you’ve got Nolan, you’re even hooking up with someone like Matteo! You’re all cut from the same cloth!”

A sharp slap landed on the side of Elaine’s face.
Stunned, she touched her cheek and looked up at Matteo in disbelief.
Because it wasn’t Eliza who had slapped her–it was Matteo.
Even Eliza was caught off guard. She hadn’t expected Matteo to lash out without warning.
Matteo didn’t even lift his head. “Sorry. I don’t like being compared to animals.“,
Eliza could only think. Awesome.
Matteo added calmly, “I suggest you stay quiet, Ms. Sue. I don’t like noisy people. If you keep screaming like that, I might just cut out your tongue.”

She had grown up with Nolan. They were childhood sweethearts.
He once promised to protect her no matter what.
He would never allow anyone to humiliate her like this.

The indifference in Matteo’s eyes made Eliza instantly realize—he meant it.
To Matteo, Nolan wasn’t a threat. In fact, Matteo probably thought he was doing Nolan a huge favor by getting rid of a problem.
Faced with that cold threat, Elaine went silent.
After all, Matteo was no gentleman–he was a ruthless, blood–soaked demon.

Soon, the group arrived at Elaine’s home.
Once inside her bedroom, Eliza’s eyes immediately landed on the decorations.
The walls were plastered with photos of Nolan.
Her brow furrowed at the sight.
These were pictures of Nolan from all stages of his life.
Somewhere, he was reading. Somewhere, he was just spacing out.
This wasn’t love anymore. This was an obsession.
“Computer.”
Matteo didn’t care about the room’s creepy decor. The only thing he wanted was whatever was stored on Elaine’s computer.
Elaine said nothing, but there on the desk sat a desktop and a laptop.
Matteo considered wiping everything, but Elaine sneered, “You don’t have the password. You won’t be able to destroy anything. Don’t even think I’ll tell you.”
“Oh really?”
Matteo’s expression remained impassive. He tapped a few keys, and the desktop unlocked.
Elaine froze, stunned.
Even Eliza was surprised. “I thought you were some elite hacker or something. Shouldn’t that take more time? The password was Nolan’s birthday. Not exactly hard to guess.”
Eliza glanced at Elaine, who looked like she wanted to
anish from shame.
She’d assumed she was up against a worthy opponent, but turns out Elaine was just another hopeless lovestruck fool.
Of course, Eliza wasn’t exactly in a position to judge.
Matteo searched the entire desktop but found no incriminating photos. In the end, he actually laughed. “You didn’t back anything up.”
So Elaine had been counting on nothing but the photos on her phone to take them down?
Matteo didn’t even know who to feel worse for.
Elaine was as foolish as Naomi had been.
And he’d actually wasted so much time dealing with her.
“What? No backup?” Eliza was just as surprised.
Did Elaine really not even consider a contingency?
Just to be sure, Matteo checked the laptop too. Same result.
