Chapter 13
DANTE’S POV
I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched Ana Who was this woman?
The Aria I thought I knew would never stro down in front of everyone would never throw away her wedding ring like it meant nothing
As she reached for the door, my feet moved of their own accord, taking a step towards her.
But Linda’s grip on my arm tightened, and my mother shot me a look that could have frozen hell itself.
Did they really expect me to just let her walk out like this? I understood their point, but why did my heart feel like it was being tom in two?
As Aris pulled the door open, I held my breath. And then, to everyone’s surprise, Adam Griffith, the eldest son of the most powerful pack in the region was standing at the entrance.
Adam?” I gasped, my mind reeling. What… what was he doing here?
Wever, that wasn’t even the most surprising part Adam wasn’t alone. Behind him stood a small army of wolves, each carrying beautifully wrapped gifts.
It was pack custom to bring gifts when visiting another territory, as a sign of respect and peaceful intentions. But this this was something else entirely.
I was confused by what was going on, and something that felt dangerously like jealousy chumed in my gut, as Adam’s eyes landed on Aria. His face went through a rapid series of emotions–shock, concern, and then barely contained rage.
‘Aria?‘ he said, his voice soft but laced with steel. “What happened? Why are you?” He gestured helplessly at her state of her appearance.
Aria swayed on her feet, looking like she might collapse at any moment. Without hesitation, Adam dropped the flowers he was holding and reached out to steady her.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his hands gentle on her arms. “Aria, talk to me. What’s going on?”
I took a few steps forward, wanting to step in. But then I saw it – the thin trail of blood trickling down Ania’s legs.
My heart stopped. “What the…” I muttered, my mind struggling to understand what I was seeing. Had she hurt herself? When? How did I not notice?
And then, in a soft voice that I almost missed, I heard Aria whisper to Adam, “Please… help me save my baby.”
The world seemed to shift, Baby? What baby? There was no way… She would have told me if she was pregnant. Wouldn’t she?
I laughed, the sound harsh and brittle even to my own ears. “No,” I said, shaking my head. “No, that’s impossible. She’s not… She can’t be…”
As soon as the words left my mouth, memories started flooding back, Aria’s repeated complaints of

nausea. The constant fatigue. The countless times I had found her hunched over the toilet, retching her
guts out.
Oh no. Oh God, no. How could I have been so blind?
“Aria?” I called out, my voice cracking like a teenager’s “Aria, are you…?”
I couldn’t finish the sentence. The word was too big, too scary to put into words. But before I could gather my scattered thoughts, Adam gently lowered Aria to the ground, leaning her against the wall.
Then he turned to me, and the look in his eyes made my blood run cold. It wasn’t just anger I saw there. It was pure rage. The kind that made wolves go wild, that started wars between packs. And it was all directed at me.
Adam walked towards me, each step deliberate and threatening, I stood my ground, even as every fibre of my being screamed at me to step back. He stopped just inches from my face, close enough that I could feel the heat of his breath.
“You,” he growled, the word filled with hate. “You did this to her.”
I tensed up, my own anger rising to meet his. “I didn’t do anything,” I snapped. “If she’s pregnant, it’s not mine. It can’t be.”
Adam’s laugh was harsh and humourless. “You really are an idiot, aren’t you?” He turned, sweeping his gaze around the room. “All of you. You’re all so caught up in your petty dramas that you can’t see what’s right in front of you.”
My mother stepped forward, her chin held high. “Who do you think you are? You can’t just-”
“Silence!” Adam roared, and to my shock, my mother actually flinched. “You had better watch your words. 1 am Alpha Adam Griffith, heir to the Griffith pack. And you…” He pointed at her, then at Linda, then Sabrina. “You’ve all had a hand in this. In breaking a woman who did nothing but love your worthless son.“.
I felt my face burn with anger and shame. “You don’t know anything about our situation,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. “Aria… she’s been difficult. And Linda-”
“Linda,” Adam spat the name like it tasted rotten, “is a llar and a manipulator. And you’re a fool for falling
for it.”
He turned back to Aria, his expression softening as he knelt next to her. “Aria,” he said gently, “can you hear me? We need to get you to a doctor.”
Aria’s eyes opened slightly, filled with pain and confusion. “The baby,” she murmured. “Please.”
Something in my chest twisted painfully. How had I not noticed that she was pregnant?
Adam scooped Aria up in his arms, holding her like she was made of glass. Then he turned to face us all, his eyes blazing with fury.
“Listen to me very carefully,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “If anything happens to Aria or her child, I will hold each and every one of you personally responsible. And trust me when I say, you do not want to face the consequences of that.”
Linda, who had been quiet until now, suddenly found her voice. “We’ve done nothing wrong. Aria’s the one

you exactly what I can do.”
U through the air like a whip crack. “One more word out of you, and I’ll show
He looked at me then, and I felt the weight of his gaze. “And you, Dante. You’re supposed to be her mate. Her protector. Instead, you’ve stood by and let this happen. Let me make something very clear – if anything happens to Aria or this baby, I will make your entire pack pay a terrible price.”
