Chapter 10 No Longer Involve with Jocelyn
Jocelyn didn’t respond to him. She simply took her map and went outside to finish cleaning the last section of the floor.
“You’re deliberately ignoring me, aren’t you? It’s probably better if we don’t speak until you’re graduate,” she said. As Jocelyn made her way from the back door to the cleaning area, she tidied up everything. Just as she picked up her backpack to head out, Christian suddenly seized her hand and pushed her against the wall of the classroom.
Jocelyn scrutinized his face. Although he was only cigliteen, his appearance was quite mature. He looked plain now, but she was aware of how many women were drawn to him, in his thirties and forties, including the mayor’s daughter, as well as numerous–international models and celebrities.
He was the kind of man who grew more appealing as he got older. The look in his- unchanged from before–gentle but resolute.
eyes remained
Christian asked, “So, what do you expect from me? I’m just a poor student with good grades and not much else. Whenever I approach you, it probably feels like I’m a nuisance. Shouldn’t you be relieved that I’m keeping my distance?”
“No!” Jocelyn suddenly clutched his wrist in distress. “Christian, I’m sorry for what I said before. Those were just angry words. I didn’t mean any of it.
“Christian. I’m truly sorry!” As she thought about the past–when he was wrongfully imprisoned because of her and ultimately sentenced to life–tears began to fall from her eyes. “I… I’m so sorry, Christian!
“I really am sorry!”
The girl’s tears, flowing uncontrollably, made the usually composed guy feel a touch of unease and concern. “Why are you crying? If anyone sees this, they might think I’ve done something to you.
“Please don’t cry. I promise, from now on… I won’t ignore you. Someone witnessed you being summoned to the office. Has my presence caused you any trouble? he spoke gently, hiding his own emotions.
Jocelyn wiped her tears with the back of her hand, her voice trembling. “No… It’s not your fault. It’s just that my grades were poor this time, so I was called to the office.
Christian frowned. “Where’s your test paper? Let me see it.”
Jocelyn handed him the test paper. With his keen intelligence, he could easily spot his name written on it.
She hesitated and said. “The test paper hasn’t been graded yet. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow.”
Christian asked, “Have you gone through all the notes I gave you last time?”
Jocelyn shook her head, indicating she hadn’t studied them yet.
Christian looked down at the small girl before him, keeping his emotions in check. “Your foundation is not bad, and the pressure in the liberal arts subjects isn’t too intense. You still have two years, so there’s no need to rush. As long as you study the notes I gave you, you’ll be able to get into a good university.”
“I’ll head out first. You should go back. Remember what I told you. If you have any questions, just give me

a call
As he turned to leave, Jocelyn suddenly grabbed his hand. Feeling his slightly tanned skin and seeing his eyes, which were firm but not angry, she thought the phrase “a tough man with a soft heart” described him perfectly.
“Christian, I regret what happened before. I promise not to speak like that again. Will you forgive me?”
Christian replied, “I understand.”
Jocelyn didn’t speak anymore..
His eyes fixed on the wrist she was gripping. “How long do you plan to keep holding on? Are you asking for trouble if you’re seen?”
Jocelyn quickly released her hand and watched him walk away. At that moment, she felt something within her start to ease, no longer as burdened as before.
Christian, I promise… I won’t drag you down anymore.

Meanwhile, at Crypticorps.
When the last meeting wrapped up, Zachary opened the meeting room door. Clad in a stylish black suit, with one hand casually in his pocket, he carried an imposing presence as he exited. Evan trailed behind, updating him on the schedule for the coming days.
Tomorrow is Friday, and according to the Prices‘ tradition, it’s time for the family banquet.
Zachary brushed aside all other appointments and entered the CEO’s office. “Have you found the information I requested?”
Evan nodded. “I’ve discovered that Christian Zimmer is originally from Greenicon but relocated to Dreunga because his mother suffered from uremia. His family depends on his father’s small traditional medicine clinic for their income, which is quite modest. They also face significant monthly medical expenses. At present, Christian mainly relies on the scholarship he received to gain special admission to Dreunga University.
“Additionally, he works part–time almost every day after school and tutors on weekends to earn extra
money.
“He only met Ms. Sullivan at the start of the school year, and they had a dispute just over a week ago.”
Zachary’s eyes, deep and cold, held a trace of indifference. His expression remained stoic as he sat at his desk, casually picked up a document, read through it, and then signed it.
After hearing the report, he said curtly, “There’s no need to update me on these matters in the future. Transfer a living allowance to her account every week, and cover her high school tuition for the next two
years.
Does this imply that he will no longer be involved with Ms. Sullivan?

Evan thought about it, realizing that after so many year, the debt of gratitude had been fully repaid.
Jocelyn’s background and Zachary’s status were worlds part. With the impending marriage between the Prices and Fosters, Jocelyn’s presence had indeed become less significant.
“Understood!” Evan nodded and exited the office.
Sensing his phone vibrating in his pocket, Evan checked the message from an unknown number regarding Jocelyn’s situation at school.
He quickly skimmed through the brief details.
Jocelyn stood on a chair in front of the blackboard, with Christian beside her.
Evan observed the way Jocelyn looked at Christian. It was far from the expression one would have toward someone they disliked. Their relationship appeared to be more complex than it seemed.
In the photo, Jocelyn was pinned in the back of the classroom.
It was clear that their relationship was more complicated than it appeared.
High school crushes are a common experience. It’s not unusual at all.
Even if Jocelyn were expelled from school for some reason, the funds in her bank account were sufficient to keep her secure until she married in Dreunga.
Evan glanced at the closed CEO’s office, then turned his attention back to his phone. He edited a text message and sent it, “No need to report in the future.”
He slipped his phone back into his pocket, ignoring the photos.
Before heading home, Jocelyn had a plate of spaghetti downstairs. Once she arrived home, she took a shower, and when she emerged from the bathroom, she glanced at the phone on her desk. As she dried her wet hair, she hesitated before picking up the phone, found the single contact number in her address book, and finally gathered the courage to press the dial button.
Three seconds ticked by as she held her breath, only to hear
