“When did you get a girlfriend?” he asked, his tone cold. 

Aubrey looked at Lysander, noticing just how angry Lysander was. 

Actually, he’d had a bad feeling about this the entire way over. 

He turned to Charlotte, who was standing beside him. “What did you do to offend my brother?” he asked. 

Charlotte heard what Aubrey said and pressed her lips together, then put on an innocent expression. “I didn’t offend him. I just came over to ask Ms. Kensington if I could be the female lead in her novel. I don’t know why they keep picking on me and bullying me…” 

Of course, she wasn’t going to admit her attitude was the problem. 

Aubrey hadn’t been there anyway, and it wasn’t like he and Lysander shared the same mother.

If Lysander had called him over, it was clear Charlotte must have caused trouble. 

Therefore, no matter how hard she tried to play innocent, Aubrey could see through her. 

Seeing his anger, Charlotte stammered, “I didn’t… It’s really them! 

Aubrey sighed and turned to Lysander. “I’m sorry, Lysander. I broke up with her a while ago. I had originally thought of casting her as the heroine in Elara’s novel to earn a bit of goodwill with Mom, so you both wouldn’t dislike her as much. But I didn’t expect her to offend Elara!”

“I heard your brother grew up in Brookfield, so you don’t always have to act like you’re close to him in front of me. You’re not really going to punish me, are you?” Charlotte said, incredulous. 

She had always thought she was too close to Aubrey for him to take this seriously 

And she was too beautiful for him to choose a half–brother over her. 

Aubrey raised his hand, signaling to his assistant, who immediately stepped forward. “Mr. Hawthorne?” 

“I don’t want to see her in the entertainment industry anymore. Make sure they know that,” Aubrey “What did you just say?” Charlotte’s eyes widened in disbelief as she realized he was serious.
