Aubrey’s voice came over the phone. “Lysander, I’ve already gotten someone to ban Charlotte. And she really isn’t my girlfriend–I broke up with her before…”
Elara glanced at the man in front of her and could see the annoyance on Lysander’s face.
Aubrey might as well not have made the call.
Aubrey didn’t realize that he had chosen a bad time to call and continued to say, “Are you still mad at me? Lysander, don’t be angry! If you’re really upset, why don’t you scold me now? Don’t keep it bottled up.”
Aubrey was always worried that he hadn’t handled the situation well and that Lysander was holding back his anger and might make life very difficult for him in the future.

“What time is it?” she inquired.
Just after three,” Lysander said.
Elara jolted awake and opened her eyes, staring at Lysander. “Three o’clock?”
She had thought it was only seven or eight in the morning.
Usually, when she was alone, she woke up early.
But today, she was just too sleepy.
Lysander shrugged casually. “Uh, why don’t you sleep some more?”
He could see that she was still very sleepy.

It was almost six o’clock when Elara and Lysander finally packed up and came downstairs.

Elara wore a short white dress that was just a little too revealing, and one could see her safety shorts if she moved slightly.

Rachel shook her head. “No, no! I can’t eat any of it.”
Crispin insisted, “It’s quite tasty!”
“I really don’t want it,” Rachel replied, firmly refusing his kind offer.
