Asher could only walk over.

“You called me over just to mock me?” Asher said.

“Heh…” Hearing her call it ‘concern, Asher couldn’t help but sneer. “Every time you see me down, you smile wider than anyone else. Elara, you can’t hide how happy you are to see me like this!” 

She didn’t even bother hiding the smirk on her face now. 

She was doing better and better, but what about him? 

After everything she’d done, no one knew how miserable he had become. If he hadn’t lost his job back then, Daphne wouldn’t have aborted the baby! Asher had wanted to keep the child. He had even been ready to be a father. 

But Daphne left him no choice. 

Elara said, “I’m glad to see you’re not doing well. Anyway, you can go now!” 

She stood up and turned to leave, walking unsteadily, tipsy from the alcohol. 

Asher moved to follow, to stop her, but the bodyguards beside him blocked his way, holding him back. 

They did not give him a chance to get close to Elara. Instead, they pressed him to the ground.

Crispin stepped out of the ear and opened the door for Elara. 

Elara sat down in the car and glanced at Asher, the corners of her mouth lifting slightly. 

Ever since she learned that the watch was not from Asher, she felt him even more like nothing now that she saw him. 

In a lazy tone, she instructed the bodyguards, “Let him go.” 

The two bodyguards then released Asher. 

Asher got up from the ground. 

As if dealing with Daphne’s situation wasn’t enough, now even Elara had come to give him a hard time. 

His gaze turned cold. 

Just then, his phone rang. He answered, and his mother Edith’s voice came through. “When are you coming back from 

Brookfield? Andrei’s sick again. Hurry back, we need your help with the company.”

From the passenger seat, Crispin glanced at her and asked, “Drinking again?” 

She would only argue with Arthur after a few drinks, trying to drive him crazy. 

Giggling drunkenly, Elara replied, “Just a little. Don’t tell Lysander.” 

Otherwise, she was going to be scolded by Lysander again! 

Crispin smirked. “I’m sure I’ll let it slip.” 

“Don’t you dare!” Elara said.
