Chapter 139
Lysander looked at Elara’s gentle expression and kissed her cheek. “Okay.”
Since being with Elara, he had felt his emotions becoming more stable.
Spending the night at the Hawthorne house, Elara was not very used to it.
Lysander did not feel like it was his home, and Elara felt the same way.
She still preferred her own house, where she could sleep for as long as she wanted.

Wyatt nodded. “Alright, we’re on break right now. We’ll handle it after the holidays.”
Lysander nodded in agreement.
Wyatt gave his love–struck son a knowing smile. “You only talk to me this much when it’s about Elara, huh?”
It was only when talking about Elara that Lysander opened up, unlike his usual quiet self.
Wyatt’s words made Elara feel a little embarrassed. She just lowered her head and focused on eating.
After breakfast, since they each had their own things to take care of, Elara and Lysander left the house.
Elara and Lysander left the Hawthorne family house.
Ursa had already prepared the ingredients for dinner that night.

She could not help but wonder, ‘What’s going on now? Why is Asher here?’
Elara sensed a bit of gossip in the air.

Elara called out to her, “Alice.”
When Alice heard Elara’s voice, she walked over and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Elara asked, “Did you just bring someone over?”

Elara looked him over carefully. “You’ve hooked up with someone?”
Asher’s face darkened at her words. “Where did your mind go? Do you think I’m that kind of person? Do I really need to latch onto someone?”
Elara saw the indignant look on his face.
It seemed as if she had insulted him by suggesting he had a powerful backer.
‘Wasn’t he that kind of a person?‘ She thought.
Asher turned to Elara. “I don’t need it to be what you think. Do you understand?”
After saying that, he was so angry that he stormed off.
For some reason, despite being here to discuss work, Elara’s question had made him extremely angry.
He had never been with her before.
Of course, he would not look for a rich woman now.
But Elara, in her eyes, was he really that useless.
When they arrived downstairs, Asher had just gotten into the car when Edith called. “Son, I heard you went to the law firm.”
