Crispin said, “Elara, you have no idea. Someone took your photo earlier and sent it around our school, saying you’re being kept by an old man.”
Elara replied, “I already know,”
Daphne had mentioned it today. Elara hadn’t expected that even during SATs, they would be so bored. “Do you still have the photos?”
“Yeah, I do. Let me show you.” Crispin pulled out his phone, quickly finding the photos and handing them over to Elara
Looking at the picture of herself and her father on the phone, ara chuckled helplessly.
“These people must be out of their minds. If I were really being kept, would I have him come with me to the SATs? It’s all my dad’s fault for being too handsome,” she said.
That was why they jumped to conclusions.
Crispin glanced at Elara. “That’s your dad?”
“Who else would it be?” Elara shot him a look. “Do you think I’m being kept, too!”
Recalling how he had sent the picture to Lysander earlier, Crispin guiltily glanced over at Lysander. Lysander hadn’t told Crispin this was Elara’s father. No wonder Lysander immediately asked him to investigate when he saw the picture.
Seizing the moment to prove himself, Crispin hurriedly added. Elara, we’ve already figured out who took the photo. She’s the one who posted it online.”
“Really?” Elara asked.
As Crispin spoke, he stepped away, and soon, the person was brought in.
The Lizzie that Elara had been searching for all night was dragged over by two tall men. Her hair and clothes were soaked as if she had just been pulled out of the water.
The moment Lizzie saw Elara, she tried to walk toward her. “Elara…”
“Stop right there. Crispin’s cold voice cut her off, preventing her from getting any closer. Seeing this, Lizzie dropped to her knees on the grass and begged. “Elara, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me. I’ll never do it again”
Terrified from being dragged over by those men, Lizzie was utterly shaken. Elara, noticing her fear, glanced at Crispin. “What did you guys do to her? She looks scared to death.”
Crispin snorted. “She refused to admit anything at first. Then I told her we’d throw her into the river to feed the fish, and she confessed everything”
He walked over to Elara and continued, “Elara, this girl is pure evil. She’s been using multiple fake accounts online to insult you. A few of the posts in that thread about you were made by her.
“She’s also the one who sent the photos to our school, trying to drive a wedge between you and Lysander. Luckily, I didn’t fall for it
Lysander glanced at Crispin. “Is that so?”
Crispin froze, suddenly unsure of what to say, his confidence faltering. Quickly shifting focus, Crispin turned to Elara and asked, “Elara, how do you plan to deal with her?”

Elara looked at Lizzie, who–ipmediately averted her gaze, trembling as she lowered her head. “I swear I know I was wrong. was just misled by Daphne. Please believe me, Elara

After thinking about it all night. Lizzie realized how many details she had missed. She finally saw how Daphne had led her

Daphne had been so good at pretending that Lizzie considered her the best of friends. Little did she know that when everything came crashing down, she’d be the one thrown under the bus, while Daphne remained unscathed
Now, Lizzie was taking all the blame. Everyone was cursing her, and even when she tried to call Daphne out, people thought she was just trying to drag Daphine down with her.
That bitch, Lizzie cursed inwardly.
Elara looked at Lizzie, her pitiful state reminding her of her former self. Perhaps, back then, in Asher and Daphne’s eyes, she had seemed just as foolish.
After a brief pause, Elara finally said to Lizzie, “Just go back to school for now.”
Lizzie looked at Elara with red, teary eyes, as if seeing a glimmer of hope. “So, you’re going to let me go?”
“Let you go?” Elara chuckled lightly. “I already gave you a chance once. Did you learn your lesson back then?”
Lizzie hesitated.
Elara didn’t bother explaining further, simply turning to Crispin and saying, “Let her go for now.”
The two men holding Lizzie stepped back at Elara’s command.
Crispin, clearly not satisfied with just letting her go, protested, “Elara, aren’t we at least going to give her a good beating? Or better yet, toss her in the river and feed her to the fish? Scum like her doesn’t deserve to live.”

After Lizzie lefi, Elara turned to Crispin and Lysander, who had come all this way to help her. “Have you guys eaten yet? How about 1 treat you to a meal?”
Lysander, as usual, deferred to her.
“Can I come too?” Crispin asked curiously
“Of course, Elara replied. “It’s not every day we get to celebrate graduating, right?”
They found a nearby barbecue joint, and Elira ordered a spread of food. Crispin even invited some of their school’s basketball teammates to join them. Naturally, when people heard there was free food, they were thrilled.

Elara sat beside Lysander, watching the guys eat, drink, and enjoy themselves. Propping her chin on her hand, she turned to Lysander. “Aren’t you going to have a drink?”
Lysander had a bottle of water in front of him. “Nope.”
“Your friends seem to be having a good time with their drinks, Elara noted, glancing at the newly graduated boys, most of whom were athletes with impressively fit physiques.
Elara watched them, curiosity suddenly struck her. “Do all of your friends have abs?”
Hearing this, Lysander turned to look at her, catching her with an almost admiring look on her face.
I have assumed she was simply watching everyone enjoy themselves, but what is she really thinking abour?‘ he wondered.
Before Elara realized it, Lysander was staring at her. She coughed lightly. “Oops, I accidentally said my thoughts out loud. But, you know, if your friends could show me their abs, that’d be great. I’m really curious to see.”
“Elara Kensington!” Lysander said, rarely calling her by name like that.
She turned to him and responded, “Yes?”
His gaze locked onto her sparkling eyes. It was summer, and Crispin, feeling the heat, had drunk a bit and was in high spirits. Without hesitation, he pulled off his T–shirt
Elara barely had time to reflect on what she’d just said before her attention was drawn to Crispin. “Wow.”
Crispin’s abs were indeed impressive. Lysander, hearing her reaction, reached over and pulled her into his arms, covering, her eyes with his hand.
His deep, restrained voice sounded in her ear. “What are you looking at?”
Crispin didn’t miss this moment, especially since Lysander was always so reserved around Elara. Now, seeing him hold her close, Crispin couldn’t help but ask, “Lysander, what’s going on with you two?”
“Put your shirt back on” Lysander snapped, his face darkening
