Chapter 100
Xandra looked around at the dark, empty stretch of road with fear in her eyes.
She was so focused on panicking earlier that she hadn’t realized Jameson had driven them to a winding mountain road. No one would pass by there for miles.
Jameson remained unmoved. “Get out!”
Xandra cried even louder. “Jameson, I’m not getting out! If you’re angry, just hit me or yell at me. Why bring me here to scare me?” She was sobbing incredibly loudly.
Xandra leaned in and clung to Jameson, pleading for mercy.
Jameson merely pushed her away forcefully, causing her to nearly slam against the car window.
Xandra let out a muffled groan but continued to tug at Jameson despite the injury on her head.
Jameson got out of the car, walked around, and yanked open the passenger door. With a dark expression, he dragged Xandra out of the vehicle
Her hair became disheveled from Jameson’s dragging, and she squatted on the ground while sobbing uncontrollably.
“Jameson, I was wrong! I’m sorry! I won’t do it again! Please just forgive me for this once!”
She begged desperately and her makeup looked ruined. Xandra clung tightly to Jameson’s arm and even wrapped herself around his leg, refusing to let go.
“If I embarrassed you today, I deserve to die! I’ll make it up to you properly!”
Jameson’s eyes were bloodshot with rage as he glared at Xandra who was crying unattractively.
Through gritted teeth, he said slowly, “I told you that I like you. But my wife will always be Wynonna. Not only didn’t you listen, but you still kept provoking her. Now, she wants a divorce just as you wished! Do you even know what you’ve done?”
Xandra’s cries came to an abrupt halt. She stared at Jameson in shock. “Jameson, you… you love that bitch, Wynonna?”
Jameson slapped her in the face mercilessly.
The force of the slap stunned Xandra. For a moment, she forgot to cry.
She stared blankly at Jameson, who seemed like a demon. “You hit me? How could you? You’ve never hit me before… I can’t believe it… You didn’t actually want to hit me, right? Jameson, say something!”
Xandra shook his hand frantically like she had gone mad.
Chapter 100
Jameson coldly pushed her away. “I never hit you before, so you got carried away. You think you’re my true love. But Xandra, when you left me seven years ago, did you think I would still love you?”
Xandra was once again stunned. She looked at Jameson in disbelief, somehow finding him very unfamiliar at this moment.
“W–What did you say?” Her lips trembled and her voice was quaking. Jameson’s words felt like a shattering of her world.
Jameson had calmed from his fury. He stared straight at Xandra. “You heard me right. We ended seven years ago. I only accepted Wynonna’s proposal after I lost hope in you.”
A distant trace of fondness flickered in his eyes. “She appeared like a ray of sunshine during my darkest times. Even when I didn’t want her kindness, she still cared for me and wanted me like a fool.”
Jameson fixed his gaze on Xandra then. “I admit that I accepted her proposal partly for Brown Corporation. At that time, no one wanted to be close to me except for her.
“Also, I did it to get back at you. To take revenge on you for leaving me when I was at my lowest, chasing after your so–called dreams.”
He grabbed Xandra by the hair, his tone thick with mockery. “What dreams? Bullshit! You were just being your selfish self. You never loved me. You only loved the glamor of Brown Corporation that came with me.”
Xandra was left dumbfounded.
Jameson reminisced. “After I married Wynonna, there was a time when we were happy. But then you appeared again. You showed up just when Brown Corporation was finally out of trouble. I was such a fool, thinking you regretted leaving me. I thought you still had feelings for me.”
He continued, “But why didn’t you show up before my wedding? Why did you wait until after I was married? I was too blind to see the truth. At first, I didn’t want to forgive you.
“Then, I thought it would be nice to stay in contact with you to get back at you. Later, I was deceived by you into believing that what we had was true love.”
