Chapter 32
The soothing voice that had just rang out was so clear and pleasant–sounding that I could feel my body relaxing,
When I looked up, I was surprised to see Tristan.
Jameson’s eyes darkened the moment he saw Tristan. He strode over to him and demanded, ” Mr. Zook, were you the one who arranged for my wife’s examination?”
Tristan nodded calmly. “Yes. Is there a problem?”
Jameson sneered. “That’s so generous of you, Mr. Zook. I should really thank
you.”
Tristan replied indifferently, “You’re welcome.” He then turned away and began walking toward the ward. “The paperwork is complete. Let’s go.”
I quickly gathered my belongings and prepared to leave with him.
But Jameson blocked our path once more.
He stood his ground with a look of unwavering determination as he said coldly, “Mr. Zook,
this ends now, Wynonna is my wife, and I’m her husband. I’m taking her home.”
wife,
He fixed his gaze on Tristan and added, “If you try to interfere, I’ll call the police.”
I gasped. Would he really call the police?
Chloe watched with amusement. “Jameson, you’re really something, aren’t you? So, you’ll call the police now? What’s your plan? Are you going to forcibly take Wyn away? Or do you intend to take her home and beat her up again?”
She tapped the medical record and continued, “We can sue you for domestic violence over Wyn’s injuries.”
The phrase “domestic violence” brought Jameson back to reality. He disregarded Chloe’s taunts and turned his gaze first to me, then to Tristan.
I had no idea what was going through his mind, and I wasn’t eager to find out.
I packed my things before turning to Tristan and saying, “Tristan, let’s go.”
Tristan offered a faint smile. “Mr. Brown, there’s really no need to involve the police.”
Jameson’s voice was icy, “Then, Wynonna should come home with me.”
Tristan regarded him for a moment before replying, “In that case, Mr. Brown, you should call the police.”
Jameson snapped, “How dare you!”

Tristan ignored him and turned to me as he said, “Today’s checkup went well.”
He then glanced at his watch before looking at Chloe. “Is this your friend? Let’s have dinner together. It’s almost dinnertime.”
With a handsome guy like Tristan inviting her for a meal, Chloe couldn’t hide her excitement and urged me to leave quickly.
Jameson tried to speak several times but couldn’t find a moment to interject.
Tristan led Chloe and me away, but I couldn’t help glancing back.
Jameson’s face was pale, and his eyes glimmered with a dark menace.
A shiver ran down my spine, and I instinctively grasped Chloe’s arm.
“In that case, Mr. Brown, you should call the police,” Chloe said with a laugh, imitating Tristan’s tone perfectly.
I quickly tugged at her sleeve.
After we finished our meal, Tristan went to get the car while Chloe and I waited by the
entrance of the restaurant.
The restaurant behind us was a century–old establishment in Cranbel, renowned for its rich history and exquisite cuisine.
I had fond memories of it, as my parents had often brought Charles and me here when we were younger. For various reasons, we had eventually stopped frequenting the place.
I was pleasantly surprised when Tristan had chosen to have dinner at this restaurant with Chloe and me today. We were even seated in a private room with a stunning view, where the three of us enjoyed a delightful dinner together in a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
