Chapter 48
Once again, my anger flared as I fixed Xandra with a frosty gaze. “What did you just say?”
Xandra snorted. “You’re no longer part of the Lambert family. They publicly disowned you in the newspaper five years ago.”
An intense pain suddenly surged through my head, leaving me with a throbbing headache. I clutched my temples, struggling to catch my breath.
Meanwhile, Xandra remained oblivious to my discomfort and continued to mock me. “You won’t get anything from the Lambert family. You can only rely on what Jameson provides. So, Ms. Lambert, stop being stubborn.
“Jameson doesn’t love you and won’t fulfill your desires for money or affection.”
A sharp pain throbbed in my head, drowning out Xandra’s words. All I could think about was how the Lambert family disowned me in the newspaper five years ago.
Was that really the case? Why didn’t Chloe mention it to me? And why wasn’t it shared by Tristan?
I looked up, tears in my eyes. Xandra was shocked. I pointed to the door and exclaimed, ‘ Leave. I don’t want to talk anymore.”
Xandra refused to give up. “Ms. Lambert, I know you love Jameson, but he doesn’t feel the same. Continuing this marriage is pointless.”
Despite the throbbing pain in my head, I managed a scornful smile and replied, “Ms. Clark, you’ve got it all wrong. I no longer love Jameson and will divorce him, but I won’t do it without something in return.”
I wiped my tears and stared at her. “He made the mistake in our marriage, not me. And I was the one who invested 50 million dollars, not you. I did nothing wrong. Why are you two bastards trying to shift the blame onto me?”
Xandra was annoyed by my attitude. She sneered and folded her arms, declaring, “I guess
you’re really set on fighting to the end. We’ll see. I’ll make sure you get nothing in the divorce.

After that, she left without hesitation.
With a hint of sarcasm, I asked, “If you’re so capable, why not ask Jameson to negotiate our divorce? You’re here trying to sway me because you couldn’t get through to him. After all, why else would he keep you waiting for five long years?”
Xandra’s back stiffened, and she walked unsteadily. As I observed her rush away, a small sense of relief washed over me, lightening the heaviness in my heart.
Chapter 48
Once Xandra departed, I buried my head in my hands, my heart racing wildly. The pain was overwhelming, like a knife piercing through my mind.
Why did my loving parents and Charles, who cared for me the most, cut ties with me? Tears fell as I understood I had been too naive. I no longer had any connection to the Lambert family. What should I do now?
Camila approached and remarked sarcastically, “Wynonna, if you have any sense, you’d better leave right now.‘
She gazed at me with disdain. “You only know how to play the victim and cry. Don’t try that with Tristan. You don’t deserve him.”
I felt overwhelmed and didn’t want to engage with her, so I decided to step away. My mind was too cluttered, and I needed some peace.
However, Camila continued to trail behind me. “Wynonna, your reputation is tarnished. Even if you divorce Jameson, you’ll always be known as a divorced woman. Tristan is incredibly esteemed and accomplished. He would never be swayed by someone like you.”
