Chapter 68
So, after Chloe and I woke up on the next day, we began to discuss our next steps.
Chloe suggested I dealt with my personal items that I took from Jameson’s place.
“Turn them into cash!” Chloe divided them into three categories on the paper. “First, the million–dollar items. They have to be sold through a reputable preloved luxury items platform. Second, the more valuable jewelry. Third, the luxury goods that don’t hold much value.”
She tapped the paper confidently and said, “I have roughly calculated that your items could be sold for at least 20 million dollars.”
She grinned from ear to ear. “If you put that 20 million dollars in the bank, you could get a huge amount of interest every year. You are going to be rich!”
I still didn’t understand everything because my parents didn’t teach me much about money since childhood, but I got the gist of what Chloe meant.
I hurriedly said, “Let’s proceed.”
Chloe immediately reached out to one of the largest preloved luxury goods stores in Cranbel. She told them that she wanted to sell a lot of luxury goods for cash.
Soon, the other party agreed and even promised to give us the best price because of their reputation.
After dinner, Chloe drove me, along with the large quantity of designer bags and watches, to the largest preloved luxury goods store in the city.
After half an hour, we arrived.
The store was huge. There were various preloved luxury goods.
In We Wer
As soon as we walked overwhelmed by what we saw.
The store wasn’t just the largest purchasing platform, but it was also the largest preloved mall.
Women were naturally drawn to shiny, pretty things. As we strolled around, we forgot why we
were even there.
“This bag is very cheap. The one sold at the actual store cost 23 thousand dollars, but here it’s only eight thousand dollars! Ah… I’m so tempted to buy it!
“Isn’t this the most iconic Hermès bag? I heard you must prespend at least 200 thousand dollars before being offered to buy the bag, but here only marked up an additional 50 thousand dollars.”
Chloe and I continued to stroll around.
Then, I quickly grabbed Chloe. “Don’t forget why we are here. Let’s get down to business.”
Chloe wiped her mouth as she eagerly waited for the appraiser to offer a price.
The appraiser was probably used to seeing this situation, so he smiled and said, “Ladies, you may choose your favorite bag after the appraisal. All the products in our store are authentic. We also have new preloved goods that are as good as brand new ones. If you buy it, you can save a lot of money.”
I hurriedly waved my hand and said, “It’s okay. We are here to get cash only.”
The appraiser smiled and continued to appraise the items.
In the end, he said, “3.53 million dollars.”
I thought it was okay, but Chloe wasn’t satisfied with it.
She picked up a rare leather bag from Hermès and said, “You can’t rip me off like this! Just this bag alone should be worth at least 150 thousand dollars. It’s in perfect condition. It still has the tag and packaging. Apart from that, it has never been used. Then, this one…”
She started to haggle over the price.
Meanwhile, I was chilling on the sidelines.
Honestly, I couldn’t recall how much all these things were worth because I had no recollection/ of when I bought all these random stuff.
Chloe was still haggling with the appraiser, so I quietly slipped outside for some fresh air.
There was a row of jewelry display cases outside the VIP room. I couldn’t help but step closer to admire them.
“What a small world. We keep running into each other no matter where we go.” A familiar yet unfamiliar voice sounded from behind.
I turned and saw Natasha and Lucy glaring at me with hostility.
