Chapter 69
Natasha and Lucy were still dressed in stylish and elegant clothes, but when I noticed the bags in their hands, I couldn’t help but smirk.
I said, “What a coincidence. Are you two here to buy preloved bags?”
Natasha’s expression changed. “Wynonna, I haven’t settled the score with you. Why are you so cocky?”
Lucy said sarcastically, “Natasha, the only reason she’s here is because she’s broke, so she came here to cash in.”
Lucy mocked, “Look at yourself! After leaving Jameson, you are nobody. You used to call yourself Mrs. Brown so proudly. What a joke!”
Both of them covered their mouths and laughed.
I was frustrated. I had come here to sell goods for cash. Unfortunately, I ran into them,
Iwanted to ignore them and leave..
Natasha wasn’t going to let me walk away that easily, so she said, “Hey, why are you leaving so soon?”
I ignored her and walked toward the VIP room.
Natasha suddenly said, “Hey, Lucy, did you know? In two days, Mr. Brown is going to organize a welcome home party for Xandra.”
I stopped walking.
Natasha sounded like she was gloating over my misfortune. “I really envy her. When a mant loves someone, he’s willing to give her anything. Some women spend their whole lives. begging for it and never get it, while others don’t even have to lift a finger and it’s all theirs.”
Lucy chimed in, “Didn’t Mr. Brown throw a birthday party for Xandra last time? Now, he’s going to organize a welcome home party for her. Does this mean he is going public with her?”
Natasha said, “They have gone public for a while now, but sonte women just refuse to believe it and keep lying to themselves. How pitiful.”
Lucy said, “Didn’t Xandra return to the country six months ago? Why did he only organize it now?”
Natasha glanced at me and faked a smile. “He’s just making an excuse to promote her solo performance.”
After I listened to them singing the same tune, I smiled coldly and left. They just want to provoke me after all.
If it were the old me, I would have lost it and cursed them. Then, I would have a huge fight with Jameson to the
point where it became out of control.
I froze.
A thought crossed my mind. I wondered why Jameson suddenly became so high–profile. Did he want to provoke me so I would lose my self–control?
The thought just flashed through my mind, but didn’t bother to dwell on it. Now, I didn’t care about what Jameson was doing anymore. If he wanted to flaunt his relationship, so be it. Our relationship was going to end soon anyway.
In the end, the price was four million dollars. Everyone was happy.
Chloe looked excited as she said, “Wyn, you are rich now!”
I sincerely thanked her. “If it weren’t for you, I would have been taken advantage of.”
Chloe chuckled. “They are not taking advantage of you. That’s just how business works–they buy low and sell high. Otherwise, where would their profit come from? All I did was let them know that we still have a batch of good items, so they better be reasonable or there wouldn’t be any cooperation in the future.”
I was very happy when I looked at the money that had been transferred into my bank account.
After some thought, I decided to transfer 100 thousand dollars to Chloe via Venmo.
When Chloe heard the Venmo notification on her phone, she widened her eyes. “Wyn, what are you doing?”
I smiled and said, “This is your service fee. Don’t try to refuse it.”
Chloe burst into laughter. “Okay! You are so thoughtful. I’ll gladly accept it.”
She grabbed my arm and said, “Let’s go for a feast and have some beer!”
She didn’t even give me a chance to say anything and dragged me with her.
When we were leaving the store, we saw Natasha and Lucy were choosing something at the jewelry display case. So, Chloe sneered. “Two fake socialites always buying preloved goods. They even want other people’s ex–partners. How pathetic!”
Chloe’s voice wasn’t too loud, but it was enough for Natasha and Lucy to hear.
Their expressions changed, and they were about to rush over. So, Chloe immediately grabbed my hand, and we ran away.
When we reached the parking lot, Chloe saw that no one was chasing us, she laughed heartily and said, “That feels great!”
