Chapter 89
Tristan stayed quiet as he continued to press his palms against my neck.
I had to admit it; he really had a knack for this. After his massage, my tense neck felt much more relaxed.
“Um, that’s enough. I’m okay now,” I whispered, worried I was troubling him. I spoke so softly that Tristan didn’t hear me.
He continued pressing down, focused and attentive with each motion.
I found myself drawn to his shadow on the wall again.
His side profile was really handsome. The sunlight caught him perfectly, casting a crisp silhouette on the wall. Even the stray strands of his hair seemed to fall in graceful curves.
I tilted my head slightly, and my shadow fell perfectly on his chin.
It was a beautiful moment.
A sweet sensation filled my heart. It was as if I had returned to my carefree days at 18 years old.
I couldn’t help but think that if I had liked Tristan back then, things might have been better.
Perhaps only a man as gentle and considerate as Tristan deserved my everything, even if it meant facing countless trials.
Maybe someone like him would never hurt me or let me down.
As I reflected on this, I was so focused on our shadows that I didn’t notice the absence of his hands on my neck.
Suddenly, Tristan leaned in.
I was so startled that I lost my balance. Fortunately, he caught me before I could fall.
His gaze was fixed on me.
At that moment, I held my breath and stared at him blankly.
A few rays of sunlight from the window played across his face, highlighting his lips. They were beautifully shaped, unlike Jameson’s thin ones. There was always a hint of a smile playing on Tristan’s full lips.
Not privy to my thoughts, Tristan stared at my face for a long time before breaking into a smile.
As he smiled, I snapped back to reality, my eyes darting around. “What are you laughing at?”
Tristan gently brushed my hair behind my ear and said softly, “I’m not making fun of you. I

just think you’re cute, Wyn.”
“Cute? Me–cute?” I asked, a little dumbfounded
Tristan nodded and said, “Yeah, cute. Wyn is really cute.”
I blushed and looked down. “I’m not cute. I’m just willful, and I tend to cause trouble…” I
murmured.
Tristan lifted my chin with his fingers and gave me a deep look. “You also blush easily,” he
teased.
“Really? You-” I was about to protest, but he cut me off with a kiss.
My eyes widened, and my mind effectively went blank.
It felt like an eternity before Tristan finally pulled away.
“Y–You’re not… T–This is wrong!” I stammered, clearly tripping over my words.
Meanwhile, Tristan just smiled and quietly watched my flustered confusion, looking amused.
“No, that’s not right… That… I want to go back to my room,” I managed to say, rising abruptly to my feet.
I pushed my chair back and stumbled toward the door. However, before I could even take a few steps, I was pulled back by Tristan, who held me tightly in his arms.
The gears in my mind stopped turning. I felt numb and was unable to think straight.
Tristan leaned down, his breath warm against my face. His clear eyes reflected my panicked expression.
“Why did you run away?” he asked.
I couldn’t respond. I just felt that we were too close to each other. A strange flutter of excitement ran through me, and I didn’t know what it was.
Perhaps it was the first stirrings of love I had at 18.
I lowered my head and against expectations, buried myself in his embrace.
I heard Tristan chuckle softly, feeling the gentle vibrations through his chest.
We held each other quietly for a while before I pulled away.
Tristan stared at my flushed face and said softly, “Don’t worry. I won’t touch you until everything’s sorted out.”
I muttered a few words in response, but it was too quiet for him to hear.
