Chapter 10

Evelyn’s POV

“How did we bully you?” I asked angrily, “Let me remind you that it was you who barged into my room this morning. You even slapped my maid!”

Leah hid behind Tristan’s back, sobbing into his shoulders, “You rejected Tristan. So now managing Blazewood’s project has become my duty! But you don’t even let me do that. If that’s not bully, what is?”

“We went through this! Carnival City isn’t Blazewood’s project!”

But Leah’s wailing suddenly became louder and drowned out my voice.

“Look at how tough she is, Tristan!” she choked in a breaking voice, “She has Alpha Asher’s support. She can walk all over me now. She even rejected you brutally in front of everyone. How can she do this?”

Tristan’s face darkened when she mentioned the rejection.

He turned to Asher and said forcefully:

“Alpha Asher, I’m Blazewood Pack’s Alpha, so only I get to decide whether Leah stays or not. And I would appreciate it if you could keep your Histance from Evelyn! The divorce isn’t finalized. So she’s still my wife!”

Asher narrowed his eyes dangerously.

I took in a deep breath and pressed down the disgusted feeling.

“…That’s fine. Let it go,” I whispered to Asher.

“Why?” he raised an eyebrow.

www

“I don’t want to waste my time on them. As long as I am part of this project, it’s fine. Leah doesn’t bother me,” I said.

My first step was to become the official partner of the project and start building Carnival City.

I got plenty of chances to deal with Leah later.

い

Asher said indifferently, I’d toss them two of them into the river and feed their flesh to crocodiles. But I respect your decision.”

Seeing the tension finally ease up, an elder hastily stood up and said, “Breakfast time! Please join us in the dining hall, Alpha Asher.”

Asher stretched out his arm and invited me to walk with him. And

Before turning around, I saw Tristan eyeing the two of us wit did.

Breakfast was already served in the dining hall when we arrived.

She got settled and looked at me smugly.

Everyone else in the dining room was seated, leaving me standing alone in the middle of the room. I glanced around. There wasn’t an empty chair in sight.

I called for a servant, “Bring another chair.”

But the servant stood still as if he hadn’t heard me.

Leah giggled, “Evelyn, did you forget? Tristan is divorcing you. You are no longer Luna.

I glared at her icily. She thought she could punish me like this? How low and juvenile.

I was about to turn around and leave the dining hall when Jason suddenly stood up from his chair.

“Miss Evelyn, please have my seat,” he said to me humbly.

Leah straightened her back, looking anxious, “Mr. Jason, why do you give her your chair? Just let her stand there-”

“Miss Evelyn is my Alpha’s business partner now, and that makes her one level above me. I can’t take my seat while she’s still standing,” Jason replied.

I looked to Asher. He gave me an encouraging nod.

“In that case, thank you, Jason.”

Jason held the chair out politely for me and I sat down.

But now Jason was the one left standing.

“Hurry! Bring Mr. Jason a chair!” Tristan cried urgently.

He then frowned at Leah, as if blaming her for acting on her own.

Leah clutched the dining knife tightly in fume, glaring at me. I had no doubt she wanted to stab that knife right into my chest.

Once everyone was seated, the servants brought us breakfast.

Tristan looked at Asher and asked eagerly, “Alpha Asher, when 2

can we

sign the Carnival City contract?”

Asher calmly sipped his coffee, “No rush. I need to inspect the land first.”

“But that shouldn’t delay signing the contract,” Tristan said urgently. “We can funds. funds. We can start building things soon…”

Asher put

down his cup, giving Tristan a cold look, “You are very eager to get your hands on the construction funds. It makes me wonder… if you have other plans for that money.”

Tristan looked embarrassed, “Of course not.”

I lowered my head, letting out a cold laugh internally.

I knew why Tristan was desperate for the money.

Over the years, he lived a lavish life. If it weren’t for me keeping Blazewood Pack’s finances together, the pack would have gone bankrupt long ago.

Now that I wasn’t handling the finances anymore, Blazewood Pack would soon be in the red.

So Tristan was hoping to use the construction funds to cover his own deficit.

“And we need to include Emerald Howl Pack while signing the contract,” Asher said.

“I haven’t agreed to this yet,” Tristan said sullenly.

“Then there’ll be no contract. And no funds.”

Tristan took a deep breath, looking down at his plate darkly. Even when Leah flirted with him, asking him

After breakfast, Asher left first to inspect the land. Tristan found me afterward and came straight to the point:

“I can’t give you back that 2000 soldiers and 30 million.”

“Then we can take it to the Supreme Tribunal and see whose side the judges are on,” I said.

He seemed pissed, “Going to the Supreme Tribunal over a simple divorce? Do you want all the packs and Alphas to laugh at Blazewood Pack?!”

I bravely shot back, “I’m no longer the Luna of Blazewood Pack, so I don’t care about its reputation!”

We glared at each other for a long time.

Tristan finally gave in, scratching his head, “Blazewood Pack… doesn’t have that much money right now.”

“What a surprise,” I mocked.

“So it’s not that I don’t want to return your dowry. There’s simply no money!”

“You could sell your sports cars, yachts, or that Summer House you’ve only visited once. It’s just 30 million. I’m sure you have a way.”

“Sell my stuff?!” Tristan’s voice rose sharply as if he were insulted. “You expect me to sell out? What will people say?!”

He paused, glancing sideways at Leah, who was nearby nervously fiddling with her dress, watching us.

“Or…I have another suggestion for you, Evelyn.”

Tristan lowered his voice, looking deep into my eyes.

A bad feeling crept over me.

“What?” I frowned.

“…I didn’t want to divorce you in the me, will you?”

I stared at him in disbelief, my heart in

throat.

He wants me back? Even after I rejected him?

He’s willing to swallow his pride. He must really want me.

“What about Leah? You’ll get rid of her?” I asked hastily.

He cleared his throat, “I promised her Luna after you went missing. But a lot of Alphas have mistresses. If you stay as my mistress, we can still be together. We don’t need to argue about your dowry and Emerald Howl Pack. Isn’t this better?”
