“Alpha Asher, are you serious right now?!” Leah cried indignantly, “Evelyn contributed nothing to this project! Why does she get to take a share of our profit? And Tristan already agreed to make me the new CEO!”
“If he appoints you, Storm Fang Pack will withdraw the fund,” Asher said nonchalantly.

There was a collaborative intake of breath from the crowd. Everyone from Blazewood Pack looked mortified.
Blazewood Pack didn’t have the kind of money to develop the Carnival City on its own. So if Asher withdrew, the project would be dead on the spot.
“No…Wait!” Tristan said urgently, breathing fast. “Give us some time, Alpha Asher. We’ll figure this out.”
“OK” Asher said icily, “It’s either you, me and Emerald Howl Pack develop this project together, or I walk away right now. Your choice.”
Tristan had a sullen look on his face.
He called all the elders and Leah, and together they left the party hastily, probably on their way to work out a tactic to take me down.
Before leaving, Tristan shot me a dark look.
I gazed back bravely even with a little defiant smile.
Most people lost interest in the party after Tristan left. But they stuck around and kept peeking
